Paul Bates, Ph.D., (Editor) received his degree in 1978 and took a position in the Department of Special Education at Southern Illinois University. For the past twenty-three years, he has been involved in personnel preparation of special educators at SIU and has conducted several innovative research and demonstration projects in the southern Illinois area involving supported employment, community-based training, person-centered transition planning, and the self-directed IEP. The results of Dr. Bates work have been published in leading professional journals, books, and monographs. He has provided consultation to state and local programs in over thirty states. Dr. Bates research interests focus on assisting students, their families, and professionals to work collaboratively through the transition planning process.
Dawn Hunter. Ph.D., (Editor) is an associate professor in the School of Education at Chapman University. Previously, she served the branch chief of the Severe Disabilities Branch, Office of Special Education Programs, US Department of Education. Dr. Hunter has published in the areas of inclusive schooling, transition, positive behavioral support, recreation, educational change, and collaborative partnerships. She coordinates the Chapman University/Tustin Unified School District Transition Partnership. Through this partnership, students with severe disabilities have access to the social, educational, vocational, and recreational opportunities offered at the university and university students have access to new educational and career options and the opportunity to become involved with issues of social justice confronting persons with disabilities.

I was shocked that this book was listed as used...It was in excellent condition for a fraction of the cost. I will be a returning customer.
