Thrash metal, North Carolina-style,
By Michael (FL United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Road to Bloodshed (Audio CD)
After viewing their first music video Zeppo a year ago, there was no question that there'd be a lot of buzz about Sanctity. A year and several shows later touring with Trivium, Black Label Society, Megadeth, Lamb Of God, Arch Enemy, Into Eternity, Opeth and many others, their debut album is finally out. First off, I gotta say that this cd breathes old school thrash in the same vein as Anthrax, Megadeth, and Testament. Not that there is anything wrong with Trivium's last album The Crusade (I liked it), but this may be for some of those that felt disappointed. There's a lot to like about this record. Nothing real fancy. Just skull-crushing metal.

This album was a great surpise. I had never heard of Sanctity but when i heard they were opening a Black Label Society i was going to i looked up their myspace page and gave a listen. I was impressed and after seeing them in concert (they were awesome), i purchased their album. I have to say, this bamd was a nice surprise. Nice tight songs, good guitar and i am happy to hear a heavy band that doesnt use the crappy cookie monster vocal style so popular now. This is a great album and highly recomended if you enjoy Metallica, Testament and Megadeth. Pick this one up.

A7X meets Rob Zombie..,

This review is from: Road to Bloodshed (Audio CD)
This CD has the music of a heavier version of Avenged Sevenfold mixed with the voice and music of Rob Zombie, its like A7X and Rob Zombie had sex and had a baby, and Sanctity is it.This band has some of the best chugging riffs I have ever heard, my personal favorite being "Beneath the Machine". The music is awesome, the lyrics are great, this CD is worth every penny.
