Foghat was formed in 1971 when Roger and Dave left Savoy, wanting to give a more rock 'n roll flavor to the blues-boogie music they had been playing. They took America by storm during the ... 5.0 out of 5 stars DYNAMITE! February 14, 2002
Format:Audio CD
It sure is good to see the old fellas rocking again, and nowhere is this more evident than with FOGHAT and "Road Cases." This is a great live recording, with Foghat smoking just like they usually always do.
This jam starts out with a rousing rendition of "I just want to make love to you", followed immediately by what I believe to be the best song on the set, "Driving Wheel." Their version of DW lasts up to almost eight minutes long and just flat out rocks! The fifth track "Sweet Home Chicago" is indicative of just why Foghat always stayed true to their blues roots. They were always appreciative of the blues, and SHC is pure in its content.
This concert was recorded live at the Roseland Theater in Portland Oregon, on the 25th and 26th of Oct. 1996. The crowd is very enthusiastic, and Foghat does not disappoint their audience.
Peverett and Price trade licks throughout this entire set, and the duo guitar attack will blow back your ears! Price does get a little carried away with the slide guitar on occasion, but this recording will show anybody what a true blues rock band is capable of.
The line up at the time of this recording consisted of "Lonesome" Dave Peverett-Lead vocals and guitar- Rod Price-Lead slide guitar and vocals-Tony Stevens-Bass and vocals-with the ever dependable Roger Earl on drums. A powerful line up, that packed a terrific punch. Foghat did not care if they played too loud, that was their trademark, and they stuck with it, critics be [fooled].
Tracks #9 "Fool for the City" (another one that flat out ROCKS!) and #10, the Foghat anthem "Slowride" are performed with magnetic enthusiasm on this CD.

5.0 out of 5 stars ROAD FEVER February 11, 2000
Format:Audio CD
My first ever Foghat CD and it sounds really good. The band is great live and after 25 some years, they still sound fresh and lively as they did back in their heyday. I Just Want To Make Love To You, Slow Ride and Foll For The City are here, as expected, and sound great. Drivin' Wheel, Bad Bad Lovin', and Sweet Home Chicago are good blues boogie rockers. The CD ends on a studio note, new songs Angel Of Mercy and Tear You Down are excellent proving these boys still can come up with good songs. A definite keeper.

5.0 out of 5 stars 100% Foghat,100%live FourStars November 16, 1998
By A Customer
Format:Audio CD
Back in 1975 I saw Foghat on what was their monstertour. Biggest lp; Fool for the city. Biggest song; Slow Ride. Out of that came the livealbum and only six cuts, what a let down. Now the new live disc gives us a few more songs and twonew studio cuts. the live songs are your basicboogie foghat tunes ,old classics and a couple of new tunes. The new studio cuts are fine a slow blues rift and a perkier tune. All in all this is 100% Foghat. Their thirtyeth anniversary is coming up in a few years and hopefully they will put out a box set that will cover maybe a few other live versions that haven't been put out

5.0 out of 5 stars Two more songs then the original US release May 1, 2001
Format:Audio CD
An excellent addition to anybody's foghat collection! the first cd is 43 minutes and the second cd is 45 minutes, IJWTMLTY is a differant version then what was on the original Roadcases release, also all the in between song "speaking to the crowd" by Lonesome Dave is not on this version of Roadcases, my only complaint is that "Its too late" and "stone blue" are recorded at a little lower volume then the rest of the cd! but overall its an excellent cd

5.0 out of 5 stars THIS IS THE BEST LIVE ALBUM OF FOGHAT January 27, 2010
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
DEAR FOGHAT FANS

YOU LIKE "foghat live"? YOU LIKE "foghat king biscuit hour"? So you'll love this album ! the sound is terrific ( that bass !!) and the set list perfect: all foghat classics and 2 unrealeased studio tracks ( not fillers but good songs); and the band is the historic band ( LONESOME DAVE / TONY STEVENS/ ROGER EARL / and the mad slide guitar of ROD PRICE)this record "smells good" / friendship , good audience, fun ,madness,pleasure to be on stage : authenticity;

IF YOU HAVE JUST 3 RECORDS OF FOGHAT TO BUY : buy ROAD CASES / FOGHAT LIVE/ and the best studio album :STONE BLUE.
THAT S JUST MY PERSONNAL ADVICE !! but i know a little what i'm talking about when i talk about 70'S US HARD ROCK!!!
