3.0 out of 5 stars Is Forgiveness A Thing Of the Past?, June 15, 2006
This review is from: Road to Forgiveness: Arizona Series #3 (Heartsong Presents #632) (Mass Market Paperback)
In today's world of turmoil when it seems that more things go wrong than right, we suffer many heartaches and heartbreaks. Is there such a thing as forgiveness anymore? Do you shed a tear when you remember something you'd rather not? That's not a very deep question to ponder. But this one is: Why do men have to be so bullheaded and determined to do things their way?

Carol Cox sets this romance in the past, 1898, in Tucson, Arizona, but it could have taken place in anyone's imagination in today and where you are. A young girl gives her heart away, but is it to the right young man? Her father thinks not, and will do anything to keep them apart. Jacob is just as enarmoured with Hallie as she with him. After much dissession from her mean-spirited dad, Jacob enters into her life again. She is happy saying, "God does answer prayers."

Does he really stagger around two blocks in his neighborhood only to be hugged by a man? Sounds fishy to me. That one would make up anything to seem demure and humble. He is the opposite, pretending to be something and someone he is not. To seek forgiveness, we have to look over the other person's shortcomings and concentrate instead on one little thing praiseworthy. I thought he was the best, but he let me down and now it will be another lifetime before I can ever forgive. I am just not a forgiving person when an entity hurts me intentionally and in a big way, as he did. Ms. Cox uses a scripture "For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly father will also forgive you." Well, he didn't exactly trespass, except by his mean remark which hurt more than what his son did. And he didn't have the courage to admit what was wrong, only "I owe an apology" To Whom? Wolfman Jack -- could he be telling the truth this time. It's hard to know for sure.
