About the Author
Robert Decker was Professor of Geophysics at Dartmouth College for 25 years; he was also Scientist-in-Charge of the U.S. Geological Survey's Hawaiian Volcano Observatory for 5 years. Barbara Decker is a science writer who has written 15 books and many magazine articles. Barbara is the President of Double Decker Press established in 1984 to publish Road Guides to National Parks and Monuments.

Highly recommend! If you stop and see everything detailed in this book you will need to spend at least 2 FULL days at Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. Great information and made our visit to the park even more enjoyable.

Book has great pictures and maps, lists driving/walking distances between stops and is easy to read. I have not been to Hawaii yet, so I can't say how accurate it is, especially since it was published in 2003. However, paging through the book made me look forward to my Geologic adventure.
