5.0 out of 5 stars The storm before the calm., May 30, 2001

This review is from: Road to Hell (Deadlands: Devils Tower #1) (Paperback)
This is the first of the "Devil's Tower" trilogy of adventures, which is definitely not for starting characters. If the members of your Posse don't have at least 3 Grit apiece, you might want to run them through a few other adventures first. One of the things that's attracted me to the Deadlands games is the meta-story running through them. Like some of the better season premieres of "The X-Files," the Devil's Tower arc gives the Posse a BIT more of The Truth, but creates just as many questions as it answers. As someone who got into the game via "Hell on Earth," I appreciate the background for it that this adventure forms. Here, the players really make a difference in the world of the Weird West. Succeed, and all goes well. Fail, and the Hell on Earth timeline is created.
