5.0 out of 5 stars SKID ROW'S "ROADKILL", PREPARE TO ROCK!
Skid Row's "Roadkill" is a full two hours of Skid Row madness. It starts out with the video "Psycho Love" in 3D. It even comes with two pairs of 3D glasses! After that you get Skid Row both on stage and off. It starts with footage of fans coming up on stage with the Skids and then diving off into the crowd. We then go to a live presentation of...

3.0 out of 5 stars Great insight into the band but poor concert footage
This video offers an interesting and slightly personal insight into the band. This is certainly refreshing and will appeal to diehard Skid Row fans.

However, I bought this tape to watch the concert footage and was deeply disappointed. Firstly, the video and audio was mostly 'bootleg' quality except for the 3D video and the gig in Japan; it really does seem like someone...

5.0 out of 5 stars SKID ROW'S "ROADKILL", PREPARE TO ROCK!, February 20, 1999
This review is from: Road Kill [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Skid Row's "Roadkill" is a full two hours of Skid Row madness. It starts out with the video "Psycho Love" in 3D. It even comes with two pairs of 3D glasses! After that you get Skid Row both on stage and off. It starts with footage of fans coming up on stage with the Skids and then diving off into the crowd. We then go to a live presentation of "Slave To The Grind". After that, you get to take a look at the Skids waiting at the airport...never a dull moment! Somebody runs up behind Scotti Hill (one of Skid's guitar players) and pulls down his pants while he's looking through his video camera at some tape he's just shot! When Sebastian Bach (Skid's vocalist) realizes nobody who works on the plane speaks English, well, he even asks them if it's OK to blow up the plane! The entire tape goes back and fourth between the songs performed live around the world and "home video" like the airport shots. Highlights of the "home video" include a fan trying to get a job as a roadie...at the end of the tour. Sebastian takes over the microphone at a Burger King (while wearing a Burger King crown). Sebastian also reads a "counsel" letter to British fans in which Skid Row were told not to sing "Get the F*** Out" unless they changed the lyrics. If you guessed they sang the song anyway, you guessed right. The other songs included are "Monkey Business", "Here I Am", "Big Guns", "18 & Life", "Psycho Therapy" (in which Rachel Bolan, Skid's bass player, takes the microphone), "Piece Of Me", "Mudkicker", and "Youth Gone Wild". There is a nice drum solo by Rob Affuso, Skid's drummer. There is footage of Sebastian recording "C'Mon And Love Me", which is on the EP "B-Side Ourselves". There is also a clip of the Skids "Hangin' with MTV" in which Sebastian sings "Delivering The Goods" with Rob Halford, vocalist for Judas Priest. You also get the Skids doing "Cold Gin" live with Ace Frehley of Kiss playing guitar. If you love Skid Row then you'll definately want to add this video to your collection. You may also want to check out their other two videos, "Oh Say Can You Scream" and "No Frills". You can also still obtain their albums "Skid Row", "Slave To The Grind", "Subhuman Race", and Sebastian Bach's solo record "Bring 'Em Bach Alive". All of the above mentioned are at this time available right here on Amazon.com.

Like the other Skid Row videos, this is one you will watch over and over again. Complete with a 3-D view of the Skids, you will see tons of live concerts and behind the scene footage of their tour. The commentary is hilarious and their antics will have you laughing so hard, your ribs will ache. It's the next best thing to being there!

3.0 out of 5 stars Great insight into the band but poor concert footage, December 21, 2001

This video offers an interesting and slightly personal insight into the band. This is certainly refreshing and will appeal to diehard Skid Row fans.

However, I bought this tape to watch the concert footage and was deeply disappointed. Firstly, the video and audio was mostly 'bootleg' quality except for the 3D video and the gig in Japan; it really does seem like someone shot the concerts off a camcorder. Secondly, several popular slow numbers like "In a Darkened Room", "Wasted Time" and "I Remember You" were missing.

In short, get this video if you want to know the band a little better but do not bother if you're after good concert footage.

1.0 out of 5 stars A lot of Skid Row, maybe too much, October 15, 2007
This review is from: Road Kill [VHS] (VHS Tape)
This video clocks in at 2 hours, but to me it seemed longer. I couldn't sit through it all in one sitting. It's A LOT of Skid Row. Some good concert clips, a lot of home video that should only be entertaining to the band members and the die-hardest of fans, and a lot of singer Sebastian Bach acting like the mindless idiot he is (great singer, but dumb as a rock that guy). I'd say this is about 50% watchable and 50% nonsense. I like Skid Row, their first two albums I listen to frequently, but this Road Kill video is a little too much goofing around and not enough concert footage/music. I'd rather just watch a concert bootleg DVD of them in their prime. The "behind the scenes" footgae isn't interesting for the most part it's just them on the bus or acting stupid. Really it kind of shows that when not on stage with instruments in hand, the members of Skid Row aren't interesting at all.
