A Must Read,
This review is from: Road to Omalos (Hardcover)
Marilyn Jax has written another great mystery. This time she takes us on a journey to Crete with Claire and Guy as they pursue Crete's most feared man in the name of justice. The story is so interesting and exciting, once I started it I just couldn't put this book down. It is also great to learn more about Claire and Guy's relationship. I highly recommend Road to Omalos.

Excellent mystery novel!,
This review is from: Road to Omalos (Hardcover)
If you love mystery novels and are intrigued by crime stories, you just have to read Road to Omalos by Marilyn Jax. She has a wonderful gift for weaving a story together so well that you forget you're reading a book. You get to know her characters so well, once you reach the end you can replay the story in your mind, much like you would a made-for-tv movie.

Once again Marilyn Jax has written a spell binding mystery. Set in Crete, it pits Claire Caswell and her partner Guy Lombard against two sets of assasins in pursuit of the wayward scion of Crete's most powerful and feared family. The characters are vividly described, the setting is portrayed with artistry and the plot unfolds to suprise after surprise. One is literally on the edge of one's seat until the final scene unfolds. Family loyalty clashes with fundamental values as mystery is compounded by mystery. I could not put the book down and had to read it from beginning to end.Michael Berenbaum

Another winner!,
This review is from: Road to Omalos (Hardcover)
I read The Find and Road To Omalos and thoroughly enjoyed both of Marilyn's books. Her flair for mystery and suspense is a true page turner. I enjoyed the detective work of Claire Caswell and Guy Lombard, and unraveling their mystery along with them. Her writing brings her characters to life and I felt as though I was also on Omalos, riding in the small car on a darkened road. I think I fell in love with the people and countryside of Omalos. Looking forward to your next book, Sapphire Trails.

Marilyn Jax is a brilliant writer with a knack for making her readers salivate with each page turn! As her well-crafted characters, namely Claire Caswell and Gaston "Guy" Lombard, move through the moments of the stories in her two novels, "The Find" and "Road to Omalos," the intricately woven subplots bring depth and intrigue to the carefully constructed plots. Jax's flair for romance also sparks subtly in the setting descriptions and character interactions. Jax's novels are thrilling five-star reads. Highly recommended!

Rarely am I compelled to start and finish a book within a 30 hour window. Jax provided excellent character development coupled with educational pearls about Greek culture. You also are treated to adult romance between nicely flawed humans, ones resembling real people. Am anxious to read any and all that Jax writes!

Captivating!!,

Captivating!! Electrifying!! Marily Jax captures the ethos of Crete as a backdrop for a thrilling tale about murder, diabolical madness, and deeep unexpected family concern for a deranged relative-international killer. Road To Omalos could also be described as riveting. I found myself getting up at four-thirty in the morning to finish the book. I had been fully engaged in the suspense of the story when I drifted off to sleep. The description of the bird watching vigilantes adds a humorous touch to their otherwise dark, renegade justice that will keep you smiling. You won't be disappointed in reading this international thriller! The Reverend Jay S. Friberg

As good, if not better, than THE FIND,
This review is from: Road to Omalos (Hardcover)
The second novel by Marilyn Jax, ROAD TO OMALOS, is another fine suspense story of murder mystery intrigue. From the truly likable main characters to the heartless criminals, the plot is captivating and vividly descriptive. The Greek island of Crete is an outstanding setting for this thoroughly satisfying fast read. Looking forward to Marilyn Jax's next literary adventure involving Claire Caswell and "Guy" Lombard.

Road to Omalos by Marilyn Jax is as much or more entertaining and engrossing than her first novel, The Find, if possible. Kudos to the author, who traps you from page one to the end in a moving and gripping adventure thriller that you don't want to put down. And for those who know Crete , it is a reminder of the island's beauty and rich history. And for those who have never visited the island, you will want to place it high on your list of must places to go. SG

After reading Jax's first novel, The Find, I waited impatiently for her next. I wondered if she could craft another mystery novel as spellbinding as her first. She did! I just bought Road to Omalos and read it in a single sitting--staying up all night to finish it. I could not put it down. It kept me on the edge of my seat from beginning to the astonishingly surprising, totally unexpected end. Jax's ability to weave a story is unmatched. Characters struggle with conscience in this riveting tale of court justice vs. vigilantism. I give this book five stars! If you are a lover of mysteries, don't miss reading this book. Now I will again wait impatiently for her next novel!
