An amazing album!,

This is quite possibly my favorite Pennywise album. The lyrics in here are so powerful you would not believe! Pennywise has such a positive and uplifting message for the entire world that I wish more people could see past the "noise" and hear the beautiful message. They speak of social consciousness and social awareness and freedom of the individual--all such important messages that need to be said and addressed more in this world. I truly love this band and I love this album. I wish them all the best! --Kelly Magovern

Pennywise at it's best,

Pennywise has been one of the foremost bands on the punk scene for the past decade, and it is this album that really brings home why these Hermosa Beach, California rockers have become such a staple to punks everywhere. Every song on this album is full of energy and the lyrics, both poignant and agressive, and tackling the issues that face us everyday. Some of the best tracks are the title track, "Unknown Road," the classic "City is Burning" and my personal favorite, "Tester". Fletcher Dragge's work on the guitar is amazing. The fact that this is only the second album from Pennywise really points to their amazing abilities. If you are interested in Pennywise, but don't yet own any of their albums, this is a great start.

Travel on the Unknown Road,

This is an amazing band with very talented musicians and this CD is a collection of the best punk songs which express so much energy. I figure that "Unknown Road", "Time to Burn", "City is Burning" and "Nothing" are the best songs on this album. This band really relates to skate. Actully, I first heard "Unknown Road" on a 411 video. You should buy this CD. There are some AWESOME bass guitar and drum parts in songs. The guitar is very fast going and the vocals take Robert Frost to write. Get this CD and travel the Unknown Road.

Great music,
This review is from: Unknown Road (Audio CD)
--Get up, get out, make a difference--This is what Pennywise is saying throughout this entire cd, and it's very refreshing to be able to listen to such great music and also get a great message out of it. Best tracks in my opinion: Unknown Road, Homesick, Time to Burn, You Can Demand, Nothing, Vices, and City is Burning. If you like fast paced music with unstopable unenergy . . . if you like passionate lyrics that really have meaning behind . . . then Unknown Road is the path to follow.

Their best,

This is easily their best, with their self-titled coming in second.Great energetic old- school styled punk with great lyrics. I dont understand how Jason Thirsk wrote lyrics like that, and then turned around and did what he did. Isaw then recently at warped and they were great. Im 31, and im supposed to have outgrown this music or something, but I'll be listening to it until doomsday. So, stop messing around and get it immediately if not sooner.

The best punk album of the decade!,

Unknown Road is Pennywise's best album ever. The lyrics to the songs are motivation for whatever you do-skate, surf, bodyboard and snowboard. Read the lyrics and quit wasting time doing the same old thing.

Pennywise: One of few bands who can do no wrong,
By Starry (USA) - See all my reviews

When I first got this, I didn't like it as much as the other Pennywise CDs I already had. Maybe the rougher production threw me off or something. Or maybe I just wasn't expecting to hear what I heard. In any regard, this CD *FREAKING ROCKS.* I mean, it is easily 5 stars in my book. Pennywise is the most consistently amazing hardcore punk band ever I think. I can't name a single of theirs I don't like. On this CD, as with other Pennywise albums, you will find smashing hardcore punk riffs pieced together with the perfect blend of melody.

Pennywise is a great band! Unknown road is probably their best album with full circle next in line. You really have to listen to the songs because songs that you didn't like as much before become some of your favorites after you've heard them a few times! This cd is definately worth getting!
