4.0 out of 5 stars Many games in one, December 29, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Road Rash Jail Break (Video Game)
I love it!

There are many ways to play this game, including multi-player, which makes this game a must have. The graphics are very clear and the precision of the driving is great--you don't crash around every corner. However, hitting your opponents three times fast is very difficult, but you can just slow down and wait for them to go around again if you like to have a nice scenic bike ride.

There is Wild Race, where you race against three other bikers and a cop. In Cop Patrol, you're the cop and have to knock down all four bikers. Time Attack lets you race without opponents against a clock (very difficult). I haven't figured out Survival mode yet because it requires a password and my first password for Wild Race doesn't work on it. Multi-player lets up to two players connect (I haven't done this). Finally, there is a tips section that gives clues as to the gameplay. It's fairly simple but tons of fun, and the variations just make it a bonus on bonus.

2.0 out of 5 stars If you have the PC-version of the original, don't bother, May 18, 2005
= Fun:1.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Road Rash Jail Break (Video Game)
Jailbreak is an embarrassment to the Road Rash franchise. It's so weak and pointless and the gameplay is unbelievably crap. Everything that makes Road Rash great has been whittled down to nothing that I ended up wondering why they bothered.

1. You cannot fall off your bike and run around. If you smash into your car you just go right through it. Falling off only happens (rather unspectacularly) when you're energy hits zero. But you magically reappear on the bike in a second.

2. There are only 4 rashers per race. In previous games there were 15. It doesn't really feel like a race anymore and there are 11 less people to beat-up.

3. Marshall Lee only chases you. He will not go after any other rashers.

4. There are very few/no opportunities for stunts/jumps.

5. The sound effects are rotten.

6. There is no rear-view mirror or indicators telling you who is behind.

7. There is no counter telling you how far you've come in the racecourse.

There is also a new feature here in which you can play Marshall Lee on his police bike. The aim is to knock the rashers off their bikes before they reach the finish line. But where is the fun in this? If you're going faster you have to slow down to their speed and painstakingly attack them while maintaining slowness. This is not what Road Rash is about!

Mix this in with some horrible graphics and you have a total stinker of a game. A huge disappointment indeed.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not fabulous. Not awesome. Not terrific. But it's an OK game, July 29, 2004
A Kid's Review
= Fun:3.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Road Rash Jail Break (Video Game)
This is an OK game. It's pretty fun to drive and race but once you go past a cop, he'll follow only YOU throughout the rest of the track. He'll hit you until you fall of your bike then you have to start the race again. I have only been able to get to 3 of the tracks. You can do Urban City, Tropical, and Rainforest. The City is the hardest of the first 3. There are a lot of things you can hit going around corners. The game in all is alright. Rent it then see if you like it and THEN buy if you want it.
