This was one of Rita Hayworth's last films. In this she's not a dazzling woman but a mad lonely one. Her son Rocky mysteriously left four years ago. When a drifter (Robert Walker Jr.) gets into town she embraces him as her long lost son. At first it seems like it's the good life. He not only gets free board but gets involved with the nymphet sister (Mimsy Farmer). But he discovers that the unstable family has a dark past. This hard to find film is worth watching for Rita's performance alone though the others, particularly Mimsy do well too.

This is not the Love Goddess from Gilda anymore, but a very fine actress in her nearly last movie. She was only around 52 when she made this film in France and the french gave her a good title role, when in the USA no
director wanted to cast an "old" Rita Hayworth anymore. And this film was not made by an infamous director as have all her last terrible 3 movies, this time she was cast by Georges Lautner, to play the disturbed mother of Mimsy Farmer. "Disturbed" she is in this movie and it gives in a tragic way already a glimpse of what happened to Hayworth a few years after this film; she got Alzheimers diease and lived in a disturbed mental world. Watch this film not only for Rita, the story is very interesting and mysterious : A supposed lost son, Robert Walker Jr. , comes home after years to his mother and to his sister with whom he had an amourous affair and the life of all three characters falls apart again. It is by all means a good movie and to bad it got almost no real recognition in 1971 neither in Europe nor in the USA.
