Good book, bad edition,

Yuri Gagarin, the first person in space, has wrote a decent and detailed biography. Of course, it was written in the Russian language, and it seems only now that an English translation has finally come out.
This edition of his book is very poor; it does not even include a foreword, though it has a few footnotes. The translation seems decent, but I found that they toned down his Communist remarks in at least one instance. As a Communist, his book has many references to his Motherland and the spirit of unity. But it is a good read. I enjoyed his biography and the story of his space flight. It is a shame that such an honored and famous person has received a very poor rendition of his book. But it seems to be the only English version available, and if you want to learn more about the background of his flight, or just his life in general, this is still a good buy.
