Book Description

September 15, 2011 2 and up
When a family sets out on a trip to Grandma's, their journey proves to be more like a visit to a construction site. Sidewalks are being poured, streetlights repaired, roads resurfaced. The noise of jackhammers, whistles, and horns fills the air. Boys and girls alike will love seeing the big machines at work. Anastasia Suen's simple text and Jannie Ho's bright, up-beat pictures make this one road trip to remember.

5.0 out of 5 stars fun book for any young child! October 25, 2012
By Suzanne
Format:Hardcover
This book has a good story and nice artwork, but I really love this book because there are women working construction jobs! I always point that out to my two boys :) I also love that there is some pink on every page. I'm not much of a pink fan myself, but I like that this book isn't a typical construction book. The rhyme is cute and there are fun details in all the pictures. We've owned this book for a couple of months and have read it many times. Now I'm buying a few copies for Christmas gifts for others in the 2-6 age group!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great artwork - loved by a two year old boy July 9, 2012
By Yuan W.
Format:Hardcover
I borrowed this book from our local library and my two year old loved it so much that I'm going to get our own copy! The artwork is great and the story is simple. It's perfect for a little boy who likes anything with wheels.

4.0 out of 5 stars Vibrant pictures December 19, 2011
Format:Hardcover
A family is on its way to Grandma's house in a car. On the way, the family comes through a construction zone. The family slows down and sees all the many ways people are working in the world.

Vibrant pictures and active text move the reader from page to page, almost as if one is in the car with the family, looking out on the busy world.

Here's a little:
"People working above
trim bushes and trees.
They put up lights
so you can see."
