Use only for low current applications.
My cable was marked 0.75MM (squared). A web search showed this to be somewhere in between 20 and 22 AWG. The wire size should be given in the Amazon listing. This cable would probably be fine to charge an iPhone or iPod, but I would not use it with any tools, larger lights, air compressors, etc. (I could find no fuse.) The AMP rating is not on the wire, nor on the packaging, so do your own careful research before using. Other than the low current carrying capacity the quality of construction looks good (made in Taiwan not China).

I bought this so I could charge my cordless tool batteries in the cargo area of my van, and keep the clutter out of the cab. It did not work out so good, the wire is too thin to use on a battery charger that only draws 5 amps DC. The batteries would not correctly charge due to a low voltage condition the thin wiring caused. So I am not sure what kind of accessory this thing is good for?

I had one of these that got daily use for about a year before the socket portion cracked and I had to replace it. Even so, I'd definitely say that I got my money's worth and it worked fine up until that point. I bought it again as a replacement. The cord is pretty long, so you if don't really need 12 feet, you might want to use to twist ties to keep a portion of it wrapped up.
