Tested the negative ion output with my ion detector. My detector only registers anything above about 700,000 ions per cm3. My large, powerful home ionizer sets if off at almost 3 feet. However, this ionizer does not set it off even when the tester is nearly touching the emitter. So it's ion output at any distance, even a foot or two, is probably very low.

It certainly produces ozone. You can smell it if you put your nose to it. This would certainly reduce odors, and it also cleans the air. However, some people with bad asthma may be very sensitive to ozone.

In short, if you want the make the car smell fresher, it is good. If you want the benefits of negative ions, probably not going to get it with this device.

I am online looking for a new one right now, as mine is old from constant use. I am on dairy farms everyday. My buddy bought me one of these at a home show he was working. He said here, I bought you this ionizer for your smelly truck. I was like yeah whatever, like this little thing was going to make my truck smell better. Honestly, it did. This little thing made a huge difference. Well. I took it out and put it in a used Expediton I just bought. More now then ever I can smell the difference. I want a new one for my truck. I am amazed how it helped the smell.

Open up a brand new california Scent spillproof car freshener and plug in the purifier. It actually neutralizes bad and good odor, so if you want a neutral smelling car w/o the smell of cigarette and smoke then this product is for you. However the range seem to be limited to a small-mid sized car.

This device is sturdy, but unfortunatly has a short life; work great!in a interior car enviroment. If you want between 3-8 month of use for this prize, it's ok.I would not buy it again, i prefer another one that has a little more time of use.

the air purifier was not as strong as i had hope for. it will remove some of the oder from the car but don't expect too much.

I received my order, but didn't receive this style looking Ionizer, but the one they shipped me works fine. I was kinda scared about buying one and it not perform as they said it would. I would recommend this for anyone that smokes in their cars. Two months and it doesn't smell like smoke at all. Wished they made one that I could afford for the house!

My car has keep a fairly clean air smell. I like this and for the price it is economical.

After 3 months use, the outside tip has become corroded and the functionality is diminishing. Works well when new, but doesn't last very long.

I had high hopes for this product after reading all the great reviews on it, but was sorely disappointed after trying it out.

I had purchased a used car with a faint odor of smoke in it and tried this purifier to remove it. I left it in overnight, took a whiff the next morning, and no change in the odor. I kept it in the charger for weeks afterwards, and still - no change. It was a waste of my time and money. Just glad it was pretty cheap -

I still have yet to find any product effective for removing that musty odor.

I bought two of these. One for me and one for my wife.

I used it and I do notice a difference in my car. I don't really have smelly car, but when ever there is smell it's gone completely, even the car freshener:).
