Twenty Two Short Stories,
By
This review is from: Roads of Destiny (Board book)
This appears to be part of a series of books printed by Doubleday, Page & Co. containing most of O'Henry's short stories. Originally the books were printed between 1904 and 1919 by P.F Collier & Son. This particular collection was reprinted in 1922. I cannot be sure, but I believe the entire series was 12 books total. Each book in this 1922 series is titled by the first short story in the book, but there are always around 20 to 30 different stories in each book.
This volume, The Roads of Destiny contains twenty two short stories in 312 pages: Roads of Destiny; The Guardian of the Accolade; The Discounters of Money; The Enchanted Profile; "Next to Reading Matter'; Art and the Bronco; Phaebe; A Double-dyed Deceiver; The Passing of Black Eagle; A Retrieved Reformation; Cherchez la Femme; Friends in San Rosario; The Fourth in Salvador; The Emancipation of Billy; The Enchanted Kiss; A Departmental Case; The Renaissance at Charleroi; On Behalf of the Management; Whistling Dick's Christmas Stocking; The Halberdier of the Little Rheinschloss; Two Renegades; and The Lonesome Road. |
