5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding, September 9, 2002
This review is from: Bad Roads Young Drivers (Audio CD)
This is one of those rare discs that not only make you sit up and take notice on the first spin, but also grows on you with further listens. This is not your typical Scorn material (A.K.A. Mick Harris), and definitely nothing like a DVOA release (Mark Spybey). What these 2 artists have created is a dark and brooding soundscape of beautiful ambient strings and pads, complete with one of the most interesting and diverse percussive tracks I've heard to date on a Harris release of any sort. Sometimes slow downtempo d'n'b percussion, reminding me of some recent Scorn material and sometimes fast, almost Quoit-esque drums which I also like, but more diverse still than just those 2 reference points. The bass on this album is also quite tasty, very heavy at most times, with some Scorn style looping rhythms, and some really great over processed manglings of the rhythm. Fantastic.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good stuff..., April 10, 2001

While Scorn (Mick Harris) can get excruciatingly monotonous and Dead Voices on Air (Mark Spybey) is just simply hard to like due to lack of structure, this release brings out the best of both artists. Wicked drum patterns (ala Scorn) topped with a lot of interesting distorted effects and horns (is that what they are?). Something you can definitely groove to.

It's generally good, and definitely my favorite out of the Threesome series.
