About the Author

Charles M. Robinson III, a native of Texas, is a history instructor at South Texas College. He received his BA from St. Edward's University in Austin and his MA from the University of Texas-Pan American in Edinburg. The Author of more than twenty books and numerous magazine articles, he lives in San Benito, Texas.

We have several of these that cover areas we typically travel through. This one is probably the least favorite of the ones I have on hand. I find the one for New Mexico is the best one in this set of books.

As you travel in Louisiana this book will give you tidbits of history about the towns you are driving through. If there is something interesting to see there that ties in with the history of the community then sometimes that is mentioned as well.

By using this book we have found several interesting places to visit while we travel.

This book is probably my least favorite in the set of Roadside History books that we have on hand. It is dryer with less enthusiasm about the exciting history of Louisiana than I expected. Also, we have drive through several communities only to find a small museum or interesting historical place to visit that wasn't mentioned in this book.

I would say this is a great book to start with when planning your vacation, especially if you enjoy historical information and places to visit.
