About the Author
A former newspaper journalist, Candy Moulton is the editor of the Western Writers of America's Roundup magazine and is a regular contributor to True West and many other western history publications The granddaughter of homesteaders and a longtime resident of Encampment, Wyoming, Moulton is a member of several historical organizations, including the Lewis and Clark Heritage Trail Foundation, the Oregon-California Trails Association, and Western Writers of America.

As you travel the highways of Wyoming, it is great to have a reference that provides you with the history of the towns that you pass. This book contains interesting facts regarding the naming of the towns and the people who shaped the west.

A Roadside History of Wyoming (Paperback) by Candy Moulton --
Excellent reference book, great for general reading and for travelers. As a scholar who has written much, including a thesis and dissertation, the lack of proper references bothered me. This made the book great reading, but of limited value toward further research. As a Roadside reference -- the stated intention of the book -- it meets its goal and is very well done. Kudos to the author. I enjoyed the book very much.

I asked for this book for Christmas after traveling with friends and seeing how much they enjoyed using thier copy. We travel frequently in Wyoming and I cannot wait until next summer to use this. It's filled with all kinds of interesting information and is very well organized to help you learn about Wyoming as you travel its roads. In addition, there are sections on Wyoming "firsts", interesting facts, and a detailed chronology of the state. This is by far my favorite Christmas gift this year!
