Book Description

Roam Camden is a bright girl in small town Ohio, eager to graduate high school and pursue her dreams of teaching history. Her well-planned path includes Logan, her life-long best friend, and now boyfriend.

On the first day of her senior year she meets the new history teacher, West Perry, and senses that there is something deep within her soul that remembers him... and a life they once shared.

Roam quickly learns that her fate is not as simple as she once believed. She has spent six lifetimes, as far back as the fifteenth century to as recently as the 1970s, struggling to survive a prophecy that has forsaken her… and the man that she has loved throughout time.

Evil is near, and now, in their last life together, West must protect Roam for the last time, save their unborn child… and in turn, save our world.

5.0 out of 5 stars Roam October 17, 2012
By Joie
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This book was a free download, and what a find it was. This was a fantastic read. It was well-written, fast-paced, with very few typos, unlike a lot of other self-published books these days.

The characters were well-developed, and I found myself wanting to know each of them even more. The story was captivating from the very beginning. I love that Roam is an intelligent and rather mature character, despite her young age of 17. There is little teenage angst, which is atypical of other YA novels. The other main characters in the book, West and Logan, are really great as well, both strong, honorable, and selfless. Both worthy of Roam, despite their past histories.

The premise of the story, 4 individuals whose fates are intertwined throughout time, have 7 lifetimes to reach their goals. This book starts with their final lifetime. It was very interesting to get glimpses of those other lifetimes throughout the book. There is a huge span of time from the first lifetime to the last. History really comes alive through the author's portrayal of each.

I could not put this novel down once I started and can't wait for the next one.

This book was quite interesting. The storyline dealt with multiple lives, immortality and even the idea of a parallel universe. There was one part of the story which gave me some pause.

(SPOILER ALERT) The fact that the main character Roam was a teen in what started out as a young adult (read teen) book made it hard for me to reconcile the adult love scenes in the book with what was essentially an adult who was ten years older than she was in terms of aging. Call me a prude but it was difficult to read it. I know that she was his wife (woman) in other lifetimes but still! I guess it would have been easier to cope with if she were say - a college student as opposed to a high school student. This is my main issue with the story. It honestly made me squirm that a grown man would have no self control around essentially a young girl who was also a virgin! There is something that screams manipulation to me about this whole setup particularly with how he drags her around and forces her into his line of thinking. I guess the term pedophile would be too harsh but I wouldn't lie it came to mind several times!

My issue is that young people are very impressionable and it would be terrible if a young girl were to read this and think that it is okay for an older man to force them into situations for which they are not ready.

That being said the story was interesting. I really wish that I knew the writer so that I could have persuaded her to make the character at least 19 or 20 years old (still young but not a baby).

The editing seemed okay compared to a lot of other teen novels. I was forced to give it a three because of the aforementioned issue of a young girl vs older man. Sorry!

5.0 out of 5 stars Roam - Vol. 1 October 28, 2012
Format:Paperback
This was an excellent book! My attention was kept all throughout the book and I do not consider myself a big reader. For me, "not being able to put a book down" is virtually unheard of and that was absolutely the case with "Roam." I loved the storyline and the reader constantly wanted to know what was next throughout the entire book. Stedronsky kept the perfect mix of deep thinking, curiosity, humor & insight throughout the story. Being a huge 90's music fan, I really loved how Stedronsky incorporated that into character conversations in the storyline...very creative and fit well :) I am anxiously awaiting "Roam - Vol. 2" and can't wait to see what suspense, twists and turns come up with Roam, West, Landon & Troy. For this being Stedronsky's first book, I think she did an EXCELLENT job and it is evident she is a very talented author with a very creative mind! Highly recommend reading this series!

I stumbled upon this series by accident, thinking it was something else.So glad I got it!! Now I am hooked! Can't wait to read the rest of the addicting series.

Time travel, love, and mystery and a whole lot more to you keep you flipping the pages! I don't want to give away to much of the story because it is one that must be read. Very well written and potted out. I have to West is my favorite character and Roam is in the running to being right up there with him.Hoping she shows a little maturity in the following books.

5.0 out of 5 stars Roam, Book One January 14, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I couldn't put this book down. From the very beginning, I instantly liked the characters. It didn't take long before I LOVED them (all but Troy, naturally). I wasn't sure what to expect when I started this book, thinking I may be a little to 'old'? Not a chance. If you enjoy a true love story, this is definetly that. The love story between Roam and West spans six lifetimes, weaving in and out of the past through dreams, across the world and covers interesting historical facts.

There may be some people out there who might not like the idea of a student-teacher relationship, but the story goes much deeper than that. I had no problem with the storyline what so ever. These two souls (literally Roam's) have spent hundreds of years together and their stories mesh together beautifully. It just so happened that in 'this' lifetime, she wasn't quite 18 years old yet.

The author tells Roam's story in a smooth, easy reading experience, leaving nothing out. I was so anxious to read 'Fall' , once I finsihed this book. I have a new favorite author and can't wait for more of her books to be released.

I really enjoyed the story, it was a paranormal, but seemed plausible. I can't resist a timeless love story. I'm an Outlander fan.

Original story. I didn't connect well with the two main characters but I believe this is a long series so I'm sure more development is on the way.
