Music sounds like it's being played on a gramophone., April 5, 2009

I ordered this cd because I am writing a novel set in 1923 and wanted to hear what music at that time sounded like. It is true to its heritage; it sounds as if it were being played in 1923, which is authentic, but disappointing at the same time. I would have enjoyed the cd more had the music been remixed or re-recorded. Still, I am hearing what my characters heard, so the cd is invaluable in that regard.
