The third season of the reality series Rob and Big kicks off with an episode called "Poop in the Pool." Obviously, this show doesn't pretend to be highbrow. Rather, it's a little gross, pretty funny and highly watchable. The program pairs pro skateboarder Rob Dyrdek and his ginormous best friend and bodyguard Christopher "Big Black" Boykin. Showing more genuine affection for each other than any of the frenemies on The Hills, the duo find themselves in a bit of a conundrum. How do best friends remain BFF when they work together and agree to have their humiliating moments--no matter how minor--preserved forever on film? And how do they keep coming with up wacky antics without looking contrived? The answer to the latter question is that they make a compromise. Even Kathy Griffin has taken to creating some drama on her excellent series My Life on the D-List. Rob and Big happily follow suit. In one scene, they're helping a stranger who not only doesn't want their aid, but also appears to even be a little afraid of them. In another, they're in Mexico recording a really bad song. Their pets Meaty (a dog) and Mini (a mini horse) are back and if you have any question that some scenes are staged, check out the birthday party they throw for Meaty. Seriously--most guys would rather be caught dead than at a dog's B-Day bash. What drives the show are the likable leads and the occasional glimpse into reality that seems plausible. For all his confidence and bravado, Big may have some issues about his girth. He lets Rob--and viewers--glimpse what it's like to live in a world where husky men aren't regarded as particularly attractive. At times both humorous and poignant, the moments ring true and make for compelling television. Rob and Big isn't must-see TV. This season's 15 episodes are more silly than relevant. But if you happen to catch the beginning of an episode, you're likely hooked enough to watch the rest. --Jae-Ha Kim

this is another good season to pick up of rob and big... no disappointment here.

the one thing i noticed is the atmosphere of the commentary was different from the first and second season... i can't really pinpoint why. the intro was only played once on the dvd (at least the version i received) there were many things that i wasn't aware of about the show that were also revealed in the commentary as well. there wasn't as much bonus features only the footage and deleted scenes.

overall, it's still a must have purchase: all the episodes, commentary (this time adding big zeus, bam bam, and drama), best/worse/unused footage, and over an hour of deleted scenes.

This show was one of the funniest shows on MTV. Although I am a firm believer that MTV should play mostly music videos and not the stupid reality shows it plays, this show deserved a television spot. Mindless and funny for those who enjoy stupid humor, but not by any means gross or offensive behavior. This show never fails to make me laugh! I was so sad to see it end. By far, the best of the three seasons. Non-stop laughter and adventure. The two crazy kids, Rob and Big are back, and they are always up to something! The only negative, is that it's the final season. I recommend this to anyone who likes to laugh so hard it hurts.
