Editorial Reviews

For Robben Fords enthusiastic Paris fans, this New Morning concert in July, 2009 captures their icons genius in a truly unprecedented manner. Backed brilliantly by Athens-born drummer Toss Panos, who brings a Mediterranean flavor to the trio and by bassist Travis Carlton, Robbens unique style (a tasteful blend of strength and finesse) asserts itself impressively above and beyond his rock, jazz, fusion & blues influences. This DVD Recorded in HighDefionition shows also two Bonus tracks with the legendary Larry Coryell joining the Robben Ford Trio on stage: A truly unique feature!

Ive loved Robben Fords music for years ive got everything hes done and this dvd is just fantastic!, intimate club setting in Paris , and the beauty is that he stretches out and improvises on all the songs,, gorgeous tone and no dumble!, a blakface twin and what appears to be a 4x 10 super or twin and a wah and the zendrive which i am constantly waiting on the courier man to deliver mine,, its great to hear the zendrive even though robben sounds awesome through anything he uses,, its in the hands at the end of the day. Being an aussie born greek im so proud that Robbens drummer on this dvd and on soul on ten Toss Panos is from greece, and what awesome musical chops!! great understanding and technique,, travis carlton on bass is great as well allthough ive never been a fan of that funky slap bass style,, he holds the grooves superbly, and the bonus tracks with larry coryell are even more treasures!, extended soloing on loving cup and cannonball shuffle, i thought i would miss the organ sound robben usually has on his shows but his chordal playing is simply mesmerising through his cream tele gold les paul and the gibsonish robben ford signature guitar , just magic phrasing,, some people have criticised robbens voice but i just love his singing and i still cant help the occasional tear when i hear moonchild blues,, great songwriting great songs , great touch ,fire, finesse and what more can i say,, ,, Miles new who he wanted and Robben is along with eric johnson the best !even though eric goes a bit over the top ,,i prefer robbens style and attack,, even though Beck smokes them all !! great dvd folks,, u wont be disapointed!

Great front row seat at a Robben Ford Show. Clean recording with nice tone from all the band. Couple of funky bass solo's are nice too. Three piece so you hear every note. Plenty of drum jammin for the drummer fans

I saw this same band play at the Independent in San Francisco, CA that year, the shows from which the live CD "Soul On Ten" were recorded. They were great that night, but I think they are even more on in this video. Robben's playing is just on fire, and Toss Panos (drums) and Travis Carlton (bass) are a great rhythm section. When Robben improvises it never feels skeletal or empty.

Can never get enough of Robben Ford. One classy guitar player. Is there anything he can't play? I admired his playing since the L.A. Express.
