This is a really cool alarm clock. I got it for my daughter who was starting in middle school and had to wake up at 6:00. Well, this toy could wake the dead. The robot swivels, lights up, provides various sci-fi sounds, all while repeating, "Wake up, wake up!" It comes with a 3 minute snooze feature, although it's hard to push that button with one hand because the button is on the front and the robot will move backwards or fall over if the button is pushed without holding onto the robot. The only other drawbacks are the instructions are a bit confusing, but not fatally so, and the clock gives military time only, which some kids might find puzzling. However, in the A.M., the time reads the same as standard, and this is when the alarm clock is required, so it's not a big deal. The robot comes with a little ray gun which falls out of the claw's grip too easily. Overall construction seems solid and it looks great! Worth the money.

5.0 out of 5 stars robbie the robot talking alarm clock., May 15, 2009
This review is from: Robbie the Robot Talking Alarm Clock (Toy)
this is a super cool very cute item. i bought mine new and almost immediately had trouble with the motorized action (turning at the waist and spinner in head) i think its just an inherent problem with the product, but the led lites and sounds are fantastic. it will wake you up! it reads military time- 2400 is midnite. i love it. it comes with button battery that operates the led clock, needs 3 AA batteries to operate sound, lites and motor. the instructions are alittle hard to follow but doable, dont lose them unless you have a great memory. al fischer

4.0 out of 5 stars Big Bang Small Bucks, November 30, 2009

Robbie the Robot Talking Alarm Clock is what most of us 50's sic-fi fans consider the jackpot. The Alarm Clock which may charm hourly activating 2 strobe
lights and a red blinking light, stands at about 9" and is very accurate in detail to the original Forbidden Planet model. I paid well under $50.00 for this clock and it is better made than many more expensive models ranging from $75 - 300. If you're looking for a good representation of the Forbidden Planet Robot that is well priced and not "key-chain" sized, your search is over.
