5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful Book., December 11, 2010
This review is from: Robert Genn, In Praise of Painting (Hardcover)
Robert Genn is a well known and important Canadian artist of great talent who knows his craft and his materials like no other. His acrylic paintings of landscapes and portraits are incredibly beautiful and this book contains many gorgeous examples.

A small, seemingly simple painting of a skunk cabbage piercing through the snow will amaze you by it's simplicity and power... An economy of perfectly placed brushstrokes tells a moving story.

Robert Genn tells us about his life with humour and passion in his wonderful first book, up to about 1980.

Before owning my own copy of this book I had borrowed one from a library. Once at home, I found that a previous borrower had carefully cut out many of the images... Including the skunk cabbage painting... A thief with taste...

This book is really a must for any fan of Robert Genn and for a lover of landscape painting. I believe only 800 copies of this book have been printed.
