5.0 out of 5 stars Exellent retro rockabilly, that sounds vintage!
This music is great, because it sounds as if it were recorded in 1956, and yet you get todays great sound quality, and a singer whose style and voice sound right out of 1954! He really sounds authentic and looks it too. This cd is a classic for it also matches Gordon with 50's r&r guitarist Link Wray, adding to the authenticity of the original rockabilly comback...

3.0 out of 5 stars Rockabilly Rulez!!
Excellent guitar work from Link Wray plus terrific vocals from Robert Gordan make this a cult classic. In addition to covering several classic rock "standards" such as Sweet Surrender and Summertime Blues, Gordon adds some novel material with 'Red Hot' and the delightful 'Flying Saucer Rock -n- Roll. 'The Fool' is heartbreaking...Now I can finally throw away...

He really sounds authentic and looks it too. This cd is a classic for it also matches Gordon with 50's r&r guitarist Link Wray, adding to the authenticity of the original rockabilly comback man, Mr. Gordon. It's a shame Gordan doesn't start singing again, the way Setzer recently has, it would be a real treat. Well in any case treat yourself to some really good Elvis(& I mean the "sun" Elvis) inspired(but not copied) singing, and some awesome rockabilly.

5.0 out of 5 stars The real deal, September 25, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Robert Gordon & Link Wray (Audio CD)
Robert Gordon is no poseur, no retro-anything. He sings rockabilly from the heart and soul and Accockeek, Maryland's own Link Wray is right there all the way with him. I loved this album when it first came out and time has only made it better.

5.0 out of 5 stars eggcellent, February 23, 2006
This review is from: Robert Gordon & Link Wray (Audio CD)
Old style vocals with great instrumental backup (Link Wray now deceased). Link Wray was one of the best Guitar pickers on the globe next to Roy Clark and Rory Ghallagher.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the Best Rockabilly Records ever., November 22, 2005
This review is from: Robert Gordon & Link Wray (Audio CD)
If one day I find a magic lamp, one of my 3 wishes is to be able to play guitar well enough just so I can rip like Link Wray on "Flying Saucers Rock and Roll," my favorite guitar solo of all time.

Robert Gordon IS rockabilly, it oozes from his pores. This record and Fresh Fish Special, also with Link Wray on guitar, are the two LPs I would grab if ever the house caught on fire.
