What did Robert think about his young co-stars in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire?

Robert has said that it's weird being around the three main stars of the Harry Potter films, because they're so famous that they're well on their way to becoming icons! But as he worked with them closely for nearly a year, he made and stayed really good friends with his co-stars.

Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter): Daniel is three years younger than Robert but Robert thought that he was already an acting pro. He has said: "He's so far superior to me in terms of desirability...I think Dan could steal anybody's girlfriend!"

Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley): Robert is two years older than Rupert, with whom he got along particularly well. Robert has said: "He's incredibly funny as a real person." Robert thinks that Rupert is a really versatile actor.

Emma Watson (Hermione Granger): Emma first said she wanted to be an actress at the age of six, but she had only acted in school plays before the Harry Potter movies. Robert has said: "She's an incredibly intelligent young person."

Stanislav Ivanevski (Viktor Krum): Bulgarian-born Stanislav was spotted by a Harry Potter casting director while attending an international school in London. Robert has said: "I started on the same day as Stan. Stan and I did a lot of on-screen stuff together, so we bonded well."

Katie Leung (Cho Chang): Katie waited in line for four hours to get her two-minute audition for the part of Cho. Robert has said: "I get on really well with Katie, she's a really cool girl."

Clémence Poésy (Fleur Delacour): Clémence's father is an actor, theater director, and playwright who gave her her first professional acting job when she was 14. She had a number of film, TV, and stage roles before Goblet of Fire. Robert and Clémence have stayed good friends even though she lives in France and he's based in England.

The big screen beckons once again

By now, Robert must have felt he was ready in both his personal and professional life to take on another blockbuster Hollywood movie. He won an irresistible role -- that of a vampire who is 108 years old yet appears to be only 17, and who has the ability to read minds, along with superhuman speed and strength! This is, of course, the part of Edward Cullen in the movie Twilight.

The film is based on the 2005 novel of the same name by Stephenie Meyer -- a book that was translated into 20 languages, became a New York Times bestseller, and won awards such as Publishers Weekly's Best Book of the Year, Amazon.com Best Book of the Decade So Far, and an American Library Association Top Ten Best Book for Young Adults accolade.

The plot of Twilight has been described as a Gothic Romeo-and-Juliet-type love story. Seventeen-year-old Isabella Swan moves to the small town of Forks, Washington, to live with her father. She is captivated by a mysterious classmate, Edward Cullen, and they fall deeply in love -- despite the fact that Edward is a vampire. But Bella's life becomes endangered when three nomadic vampires arrive in town. Can Edward and his family save her -- and themselves?

Living up to expectations

The novel was the first in a series and Robert was aware before he even started filming the movie adaptation that the books had an enormous fan base worldwide -- which was still growing fast. As a result, the film -- released at the end of 2008 -- drew a huge following from the moment the cast was announced.

Robert must have been horrified to find that postings were instantly appearing all over the Internet from fans of the book who weren't at all happy that he had been cast as their hero, Edward. There was even an online petition to protest! Some readers moaned that Robert didn't have the right looks to portray Edward the way Stephenie Meyer had described him. Other readers complained that having seen Robert die as the wholesome blond Cedric Diggory, they would never be convinced by him as an all-powerful, mysterious vampire. However, as soon as trailers and scene-snippets from the movie were screened, fan opinion did a drastic turnaround. Suddenly "Twilighters" across the globe couldn't get enough of Robert as Edward -- there was an online petition with thousands of signatures in support of him playing the role, and instead of hate mail, Robert was e-mailed marriage proposals! The director of the movie, Catherine Hardwicke, has said: "I feel like a genius to have chosen him for the part."

To be seen on screen...

So what's next for soon-to-be megastar Robert Pattinson? Well, Twilight is the first in a series -- so the hottest vampire in history will hit the big screen again in the future. Meanwhile, Robert's played the lead in three other movies, soon to be released.

In The Summer House, he stars as Richard, a young man who cheats on his girlfriend and goes off with his new love, only to be dumped in turn -- whereupon he decides he'll do whatever it takes to win his girlfriend back.

How to Be is a British-made comedy in which Robert plays a very different role -- that of an insecure, depressed social misfit named Art. Robert's performance has already gained widespread praise. A reviewer from the online magazine themovie-fanatic.com said: "You'll get to see Robert Pattinson as an emerging actor with such potential you'll simply want to watch more and more of his films." The role of Art has also won Robert his first international film award -- that of Best Actor in a Feature Film at the 2008 Strasbourg International Film Festival.

Perhaps Robert's next award will be for his portrayal of artist Salvador Dali in the movie Little Ashes, which tells the story of Dali's rumoured homosexual love affair with the Spanish poet Federico Garcia Lorca. Robert has said: "I think people might be surprised -- but I didn't want to get stuck in pretty, public-school roles." Robert's decision to take a career risk by choosing to play a character who has a gay relationship has been compared to Heath Ledger's decision to undertake Brokeback Mountain -- and surely his performance will earn him similar worldwide admiration.

Here is some things about Robert Pattinson
Robert Thomas Pattinson[3] (born 13 May 1986)[4] is an English actor, model and musician.[5] He is best known for playing Edward Cullen in the film adaptation of Twilight, a novel by Stephenie Meyer, and for the role of Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
Early life
Pattinson was born in London. His mother, Clare, worked for a modeling agency, and his father, Richard, imported vintage cars from the U.S.[9] Pattinson attended Tower House School and Harrodian School.[10] He became involved in amateur theatre through the Barnes Theatre Company. After some backstage experience there, he took on acting roles. He caught the attention of an acting agent in a production of Tess of the D'Urbervilles and began looking for professional roles. Pattinson has two elder sisters, one of whom is singer Lizzy Pattinson.[11][12]
Career
Modeling
Pattinson began modelling when he was twelve years old, but it wound down only four years later. He has blamed his lack of work as a model on his masculine appearance. Pattinson explained in December 2008, "When I first started I was quite tall and looked like a girl, so I got lots of jobs, because it was during that period where the androgynous look was cool. Then, I guess, I became too much of a guy, so I never got any more jobs. I had the most unsuccessful modelling career."[13] Pattinson appeared in the advertising campaign for Hackett's Autumn 2007 collection.[14]
Acting
Pattinson at the premiere for Twilight in 2008Pattinson had supporting roles in the made for television film Ring of the Nibelungs in 2004 and in director Mira Nair's Vanity Fair, although his scenes in the latter were deleted and only appear on the DVD version.[15] In May 2005, he was slated to appear in the UK premiere of The Woman Before at the Royal Court Theatre, but was fired shortly before the opening night and was replaced by Tom Riley.[16] Later that year he played Cedric Diggory in the film Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. For this he was named that year's British Star of Tomorrow by The Times.[17] He has more than once been touted as the next Jude Law.[10][18][19]
Pattinson played Edward Cullen in the movie Twilight, based on Stephenie Meyer's bestselling novel of the same name, which was released on 21 November 2008 in North America. According to TV Guide, Pattinson was initially apprehensive about auditioning for the role of Edward Cullen, fearful that he would not be able to live up to the "perfection" expected from the character.[20] He reprised his role as Edward Cullen in the Twilight sequels The Twilight Saga: New Moon and the upcoming Eclipse, which began filming in August 2009 and will be released June 30, 2010.[21]
Pattinson also had lead roles in the feature films Little Ashes (in which he plays Salvador Dalí), How To Be (a British comedy) and the short film The Summer House.
In 2009, Pattinson presented at the 81st Academy Awards.[22] On November 10, Revolver Entertainment released the DVD Robsessed, a documentary which details Pattinson's life and popularity.[23] Pattinson was ranked #10 on The Telegraph's list of the 10 Highest Paid Actors, with earnings of £10 million ($16 million) from the Twilight movies.[24]
In 2010, Pattinson will star as Georges Duroy in a film adaption of the 1885 novel Bel Ami.[25] He will also appear in a theatre production for producer David Pugh.[26] Pattinson also stars in the film Remember Me which will be released March 12, 2010,[27] and is currently in talks to star in a film adaption of the Sara Gruen novel Water for Elephants with Sean Penn and Reese Witherspoon.[28]
Pattinson is scheduled to appear on The View on March 2, 2010 with his co-star, Emilie de Ravin.[29]
Music
Pattinson plays guitar and piano, and composes his own music.[30] He also appears as the singer of two songs on the Twilight soundtrack: "Never Think", which he co-wrote with Sam Bradley,[31] and "Let Me Sign", which was written by Marcus Foster and Bobby Long.[32] The songs were included in the film after director Catherine Hardwicke added Pattinson's recordings into an early cut without his knowledge, and he agreed that "one of them specifically, it really made the scene better. It was like it was supposed to be there."[5] The soundtrack for the film How To Be features three original songs performed by Pattinson[33] and written by composer Joe Hastings.[34]
Aside from recording for the soundtracks, Pattinson has said, "I've never really recorded anything - I just played in pubs and stuff", and when asked about a professional music career, he said, "Music is my back-up plan if acting fails."[5] In 2008, he also performed with his first girlfriend's current boyfriend's band, called Bad Girls.[35]
Personal life
Pattinson was named one of the "Sexiest Men Alive" in 2008 and 2009 by People magazine.[36][37] In 2009, he was also named "Sexiest Man Alive" through a poll conducted by Glamour.[38] GQ named Pattinson Britain's "Best Dressed Man" of 2010, stating, "Extremely elegant and inspiring, the true essence of a contemporary man."[39] He was named one of Vanity Fair's "Top Hollywood Earners of 2009" with earnings of $18 million in 2009.[40]

Her some thing about Twilifgt and The Twilight Saga New Moon
The big-screen adaptation of Twilight, Stephenie Meyer's bestselling vampire romance, is aimed squarely at its key demographic: teen girls whose idea of Prince Charming is a brooding, pale, undead teen who could kill you instantly at any moment. Such a prince is more fascinating than frightening to new girl Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart), who moves to the rainy-gray town of Forks, Wash., to live with her dad (Billy Burke), the local sheriff who's puzzled by a series of "animal attacks." On her first day at school, Bella appears to (visibly) nauseate her lab partner, Edward (Robert Pattinson). Turns out the scent of her blood is this vampire's "brand of heroin," and his struggle not to kill her causes an irresistible pull toward her. Whether he's attracted for the normal reasons or because she smells especially sweet to him is vague in the book and even less clear on-screen; nonetheless, Bella falls hopelessly in love with Edward, which sets her on a dangerous path when a few nomad vampires show up in town, one particularly keen on tracking the human. Directed by Catherine Hardwicke (Thirteen), Twilight is full of funny moments--not all of which are intentional--and the casting, from Stewart to Bella's self-absorbed friend Jessica (Anna Kendrick) is spot-on. The weakest link, unfortunately, is Pattinson. While he certainly looks the part, his Edward could have used an extra injection of testosterone (Pattinson, who is British, used James Dean as a model for his American accent). In scenes where he growls about the temptation to kill those who would harm Bella, or flitting around a forest warning her how dangerous he is, he comes off more like a whimpering puppy than a debonair monster. The good news is, his chemistry with Stewart (particularly in their big kissing scene) is palpable, which, let's face it, is really what matters to Twilight fans most. --Ellen A. Kim
On the DVD
The special features for Twilight kick off with an audio commentary with director Catherine Hardwicke and stars Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson. There's some mumbling and groaning from Stewart (one gets the impression that Stewart is quite similar to her reserved character in the film), some standard behind-the-scenes observations from Hardwicke, and a lot of awkward self-deprecating remarks from Pattinson (of their big kiss, he opines: "This is quite difficult 'cause I have a really flat head, and so it's quite difficult to get a correct angle."). What's funny is Pattinson stumping Hardwicke with some basic plot questions, like "Why doesn't James just kill [Bella when she's packing at her house]?" While Hardwicke and Stewart attempt to answer, Pattinson doesn't appear satisfied. The deleted and extended scenes include an additional dream-sequence kiss (rightly cut because it took away from the buildup to their first kiss) and more footage of Victoria (Rachelle Lefevre). The seven-part documentary is a pretty thorough look at the development of the film, including... Read more ›

Nice book, and it's nice for my Twilight collection. Pretty much a re-run of the Robert Pattinson book Eternally Yours that came out during the opening of the Twilight movie...If you have that book, you have really read and seen all there is out there right now on this young actor.
As I said, nice book, just not much different than any of the others that are out there.
