Robert Pollard Is Off To Business sports Todd Tobias’s cleanest and meanest production yet, giant songs and riffs that pack a wallop, and arguably Pollard’s finest singing ever captured on record. For Pollard, whose albums normally run 15-25 songs, this ten-song work is a departure from form. He’s definitely turned up the Rock 10% and the Classic 11% on this album. Extraordinarily influential, Pollard is not just a founding father of indie rock, but in the long run will prove to be an important part of rock history, with a significant oeuvre that branches from The Who, Peter Gabriel-era Genesis, Wire, and The Clean.

Well after his last piece of music(Superman was a rocker) I almost gave up hope on the man. That cd sounded like he finally fell down the Syd Barret hole never to be heard from again. But after reading a review about this, I decided to give it a shot. Im glad I did. Catchy, cleaner production and more cohesive songwriting make this disc a keeper! Good job Bob! Now you can crack a beer.

Mr. Pollard, you never cease to amaze me. This latest work tops your previous offerings and is hands down the best solo project you've done to date. It's anything but predictable. So seems your new collective effort as the Boston Spaceships. At first glance, it appears to be another masterful work, but another month and we'll know for sure. My friend, you're like a fine wine. Just keep getting better.
