5.0 out of 5 stars The Best of Many Artist Videos, December 22, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Robert Rauschenberg - Man at Work (DVD)
Being a visual person and a compulsive art maker, DVDs and Videos of artists working (as well as the paths of experience and experimentation that educated the work)are my very favorite way of collecting knowledge and inspiration. This is the best of the current artist profiles I have ever seen. The personality of the artist really seems to have instructed the atmosphere and pace of the film. The scenes of he and his assistant transfering his vegie dye photo enlargements made my mouth water with tint and image. BRAVO

5.0 out of 5 stars The Eye of the Artist, April 21, 2007
This review is from: Robert Rauschenberg - Man at Work (DVD)
A masterful visual representation of how an artist sees the world and the everyday objects in it. This film purposefully marries the viewer's experience with the amazing eye of Robert Rauschenberg. From the town of his birth to the architecture of a window behind him as he speaks, you experience how the artist transforms what he sees into art. Thus, when you look at Rauschenberg's art, which incorporates these same elements into it, there is a sense of inner knowing, a comradery with his genius, that few viewers will ever come close to realizing in any other fashion.
