5.0 out of 5 stars excellent introduction to Bly's poetry and life thru 1984, June 27, 1996
By A Customer
This review is from: Robert Bly (Twayne's United States Authors Series) (Hardcover)
This scholarly book discusses all of Bly's poetry in the context of his literary life and development. There are eight stimulating chapters on such Bly-subjects as "political poetry and Vietnam," Jungian psychology and deep image poetry," and "God-Nature and Human nature." Reviewers have acclaimed this book for its incisive linking of Bly the man of letters and Bly's turbulent times. It is a model for how to write about poetry without neglecting the total human and cultural context of the works
