'Life is Beautiful' while one is reading this excellent original Italian biography, full of quotes/photos/analysis/footnotes/and filmography of Roberto Benigni, by Stefano Masi. Before reading this excellent biography I really knew very little about the life of Roberto Benigni except through his movies, his appearances on American talk and award shows, and brief pieces on him in entertainment magazines. After reading this fine biography I respect Mr. Benigni even more for his statement at the 1999 Oscar broadcast thanking his parents for being poor. His socialist/communist personal and professional life colors all his work, and makes his antics at various award cermonies just more of his sthick. He is putting us all on at these events. Learn why by reading this book.
