1.0 out of 5 stars Complete Junk
I am amused by all these 5 star reviews being given to this product. A quick look at the other reviews given by these users shows that most of them have only reviewed this product and nothing else. The one or two that have reviewed other products don't appear to have actually reviewed them, but rather copied and pasted something in for the product in question. Listen...

I have to take exception to the previous review. I have had to deal with outbreaks of cold sores for over 30 years. I have been using Cold Sores Begone for the past 5 or 6 years to help alleviate the duration and severity of an outbreak. It does not prevent an outbreak and the name "Cold Sores Begone" is a bit over the top, but it does lessen the duration of the outbreak by 2 or 3 days. Others to whom I have recommended this product have said the same thing.

The product does not list lemon extract as an active ingredient, as the previous reviewer stated. The only active ingredient is allantoin. The previous reviewer has obviously not tried the product or know anything about it. Cold Sores Begone is worth a try if you have cold sore outbreaks. It has helped me.

5.0 out of 5 stars Silly name, silly logo, fantastic product, September 1, 2010
This review is from: Cold Sores Begone (Health and Beauty)
Every cold sore sufferer knows the sinking feeling of discovering that slight telltale swelling on the lip. I find that if I apply this stuff as soon as I discover the swelling, and keep applying it, the cold sore remains at the tingly stage until it disappears a few days later. There's no oozing, no cracking, and very little swelling or discomfort. Abreva had no noticeable effect when I tried it for one of my outbreaks, but Cold Sores Begone significantly reduces both the intensity and the duration of the sore every time I use it. As a bonus, the taste really is pleasant, and it's almost invisible.

5.0 out of 5 stars It works from a cold sore sufferer, June 6, 2007
This review is from: Cold Sores Begone (Health and Beauty)
I have tried just about everything that is offered for cold sores whether it be over the counter or prescription. I have found that Abbreva does not work, it is a waste of money. I even had a prescription for medication that was suppose to lessen the effects of cold sores, it did not work. What has worked for me and many family members and friends is a combination of the supplement L-Lysine and Cold Sores Begone. Manytimes just when I feel the tingling in my lips, I immediately grab for the bottle of Cold Sores Begone, it does work. Follow up with a L-Lysine and you can stop the cold sores before they appear.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Cold Sore Remedy I've Tried, January 7, 2012

This review is from: Cold Sores Begone (Health and Beauty)
I've suffered from cold sore outbreaks for 40 years. This is by far the best remedy I've ever used. If applied when you first notice them forming, it stops them in their tracks. I only have to apply a few times a day for the first couple of days. The cold sore stays very small and heals up in just a few days. It never grows or spreads. The guy who said its junk must either be genetically different than the rest of us or he doesn't know what he's talking about. I've used Cold Sores Begone for over 5 years now. Trust me, it works.

5.0 out of 5 stars I have tried them all. this is the best , believe us., November 15, 2006
This review is from: Cold Sores Begone (Health and Beauty)
A prior reviewer, who said this item was a "junk", didn't say he used this product. In fact, he seemed as if he never had a cold sore in his life. I guess it's up to you to believe him or the rest of us.

I'm almost 40, and I have been suffering all my life with consistent outbreak of cold sores.
I have both Abbriva & Cold Sore Begone.
I can say, from my experience, that Cold Sore Begone works like magic.
I've used Abbriva a few times when I can't find Cold Sore Begone.
Abbriva is clearly not as effective as Cold Sore Begone.

Cold Sore Begone is the best thing. Take it from people who actually suffered Cold Sore.

There are millions of people like me. I want to tell you guys... please give it a try. The package looks stupid.. but this stuff is heaven sent.

5.0 out of 5 stars This PREVENTS a cold sore, December 20, 2010
This review is from: Cold Sores Begone (Health and Beauty)
I have been using Cold Sores Begone for years and so have the many people I've recommended it to. What's so great about it is that its a topical, non-toxic preventative. When I feel the tingle, I apply it, and that's all. No cold sore. I swear by this stuff. Our family also uses their Canker Sores Begone, which heals the cankers within 1 to 3 days. It's a God-send.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing product, October 15, 2009
This review is from: Cold Sores Begone (Health and Beauty)
After dealing with major cold sores for years, I find this product to be amazing! I have been using it for about 10 years now, and if I use it regularly before bed, I simply don't get cold sores. When I feel the slightest tingling occur, I use it and it keeps the cold sores from coming. If I miss the earliest signs and it starts to come, I use it every 15 minutes for a couple hours, and it never develops more than a pinsize. I still have the occasional cold sore that I don't catch early enough and it does not work, but I totally swear by this product! I would pay mega $$$ to get it if I had to! I don't know the science behind it, and I can't understand how someone can give it bad reviews if they have ever tried it... it is so worth it if you use it right.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Thing For Me..., October 2, 2007
This review is from: Cold Sores Begone (Health and Beauty)
One must consider that everyone's body and chemistry are different. I live in Hawai'i, a place where many people suffer from cold sore outbreaks simply because they forgot sunscreen and got a bit of a burn. Many families swear by this product here. I can say that I have tried Abreva and others, but nothing has 'zapped' them as well as this product!

5.0 out of 5 stars My Miracle!, November 12, 2010
This review is from: Cold Sores Begone (Health and Beauty)
I can only speak for my own experience in using Cold Sores Begone, but it has truly been a miracle for me. I have suffered with cold sores since I was a child. I discovered this product in my local health food store about 6yrs ago and have prayed year after year that it never disappears from the shelves. As long as I apply "my miracle" several times a day when I feel that "tingling sensation" begin, I have yet to even break out with a cold sore. I keep a supply at work, in my purse and one in the bathroom. It may sound over-the-top to some folks but it works for me so I'm never without it.

5.0 out of 5 stars This S&%T rocks, October 20, 2010

This review is from: Cold Sores Begone (Health and Beauty)
I have had cold sores my whole life. This is the first thing that has lessened the embarrassment. At the first tingling I always "burn" my sore with alcohol, then treat with Cold Sore Begone. I will say the begone is a bit dramatic. For me is speeds up the process. A cold sore used to be a week and a half affair, from beginning to end. Now three days tops [with a small sore (maybe five if I treat to late.)] A little lip gloss or lipstick covers all evidence. For those having longer recovery times try adding a little tea tree oil (great for more than cold sores.) BTW A bottle has lasted me more than a year without effects of diminishing with age. Worth every penny.!!!
