Hello hello everyone!
So we're getting to That Point. The Point when "ALSO KNOWN AS" will be out. Exciting times, my friends! It will be in stores on February 26, which means that we're only a mere (produces calculator) (counts on fingers) (furrows brow) 29 DAYS AWAY! It's been two and a half years since I've had a book come out, so I'm trying to get my Publication Day sea legs back. It's not a bad feeling. I was about to say that it feels pretty awesome, but I use that word
How has your new year been so far? Is 2013 treating you well? Well, it SHOULD because you are delightful and deserve nothing but good things.
2013 has been splendid for me so far. I handed in the first draft of the sequel to "ALSO KNOWN AS" (why I always have to capitalize that, I don't know) so I've been spending my days catching up on reading (currently devouring "The Incorrigible Children" series), movies ("Beasts of the Sou
Hello hello hello! It's me, your friendly neighborhood author! Remember me? All the fun times we've had together? Of course you do.
I'm writing this from a hotel room in New York, fourteen stories high in the sky and inadvertently staring into some nice couple's living room across the street. (PLEASE shut your blinds, people, this is getting awkward.) This city is so lovely at this time of year...except for the part where I got trampled by a mob scene at the Rockefeller Center Christm
Here I am, blogging once again! There must be something in the water over here in Silver Lake because usually I like to give it a good six months between entries. Or maybe I'm just procrastinating on writing my next book. Or maybe it's the fact that my dog Hudson is currently asleep on my feet and I can't move.
So my summer has been very interesting so far. My mom and I are gearing up to take surfing lessons soon, so of course I'm watching TV and reading a
Oh, summertime and the living is easy. Unless you have mosquitos. Or heatwaves. Or 99% humidity. Other than that, it's swell.
My summer has definitely been in the "swell" category so far. For starters, this is the first one spent with glorious air conditioning since I was a teenager. PEOPLE. Air conditioning is amazing. It's a magic box of cold air! Hudson hasn't quite figured out how it works, so sometimes I have to hold him up in front of the vent and his little ears blow
Gooooood morning, world! And what a glorious morning it is.
All of you non-morning people totally want to punch me in the face right now, don't you. Well, TOO BAD, because I have Things to Tell You! Grab your coffee and settle in.
The big news--the BIG BIG NEWS--is that I'm now officially a Walker author! I've known for a few days, but the deal was officially announced in Publisher's Marketplace yesterday, so I can now roll around on the floor in glee!
Woo! Two posts in a week! Clearly something's gone wrong.
Actually, this is very exciting. Are you excited? Yay, I'm so glad! It's the paperback cover of "The Extraordinary Secrets of April, May & June!"
How cute are they?! Thank you, total stranger girls, for representing my characters! I like how June is doing jazz hands. She would TOTALLY do that in the family photo...and then she'd be pissed because no one could see her face so
Oh, you’re right, I know, it’s not spring yet, and some of you are probably thinking, “Hey, you haven’t blogged in six months! Don’t come tapdancing back in like everything’s fine!” You would be the observant ones. And I promise that if you make it through the end of this post, there will be puppy pictures, so it’s probably best if you keep reading.
I know my blogging is sporadic, but sometimes I just think, “Oh, people don’t need to know that. They a
Why helloooooo, you sparkly people.
Hey, look, I'm blogging AGAIN! Surely this is a record for me. I'm so glad you were here to witness it.
I have a bunch of things going on right now, very few of which I can tell you about. I know, I'm a tease, I'm sorry. The things I CAN tell you about, though, are very exciting. Probably so exciting that you'll forgive my nasty reticence.
First off, "April, May & June" is a bestseller in France! I read this news on
You’re going to have to indulge me today.
I know I tend to blog about funny things, sweet things, ideas that make me happy and proud. I like that I have a sense of humor and can make light of most things that happen in my oddball little life.
Today, however, is not that day.
I heard about Ellen Hopkins being uninvited to the Humble ISD Teen Lit Festival several days ago and the subsequent author withdrawals. I should probably say here that I’ve never met Ellen, Me
