This is my favorite CD to listen to with the top down, cruising down the coast of California on a hot summer day. Robin Zander is hands down my favorite singer of all time. The man's versatility is simply astonishing. Cheap Trick IS God! Every song on this cd screams greatness. The duets and lyrics are fantastic. Perfect production by Jimmy Iovine. I would probably give way too much to have another solo CD from Robin Zander. The man can sing anything. His voice is simply the greatest sound my ears have ever heard. 5 stars does not do this cd justice. This CD is one of the main reasons I ended up naming my yellow lab puppy Zander. Thanks Robin for all the amazing music you've given me over the years. WORDS could never say it!

Robin Zander could probably sing the yellow pages if he chose. You will find this excellent CD in the bargain bin unfortunately. Some promotion and airplay would have taken this effort to near the top. While all of us know him as the lead singer of Cheap Trick, this CD once and for all lets us hear the man as he should be heard. Under his terms. Not that Cheap Trick is a bad thing. Because they definitely are not a bad thing. Great production from Jimmy Iovine. Mr. Zander's voice fits well with all the different genres' of popular music and is evident here. His voice meshes very well with both Stevie Nicks and Maria McKee who make appearances on this CD. Near perfect effort from a very underrated artist.

It's easy to take Robin Zander for granted. There's so much irony and humor in Cheap Trick's superb catalog that sometimes you forget what a great singer this guy really is. But, one listen to Time Will Let You Know will do the trick. This is the sound of an expressive, soulful artist. John Lennon would have been proud of this song. Reactionary Girl gets thing started with a Pettyesque groove(aided by Mike Campbell on guitar), and I love hearin the sultry Maria McKee sing "well baby have a bitchin summer, see ya next fall". Zander and McKee nail it on her gorgeous Show Me Heaven. The guests are a plenty, McKee, Christina Amphlett(sounding sexy as ever on Boy I'm So In Love With You), Stevie Nicks, Don Felder, Dave Stewart, etc... Producer Jimmy Iovine does a good job of matching the talented musicians on this record with the songs. Don Felder was the perfect dude for the guitar solo on Time, and Tim Pierce on Secret. This is a more serious, relaxed affair than his work with Cheap Trick. The emphasis here is on melody and phrasing. I love his version of Neil Young's I Believe in You. Robin Zander's the kind of guy that'll be singing and making records for many years to come. He's a talented singer.

I'll I have to tell ya, When I first played this cd, I wanted to toss it out the window. I thought that Robin was going to go alittle heaver and go balls to the wall. Well, I was wrong. So, I let this cd sit for about a year or two before I gave it another try. Well, second time was a charm. I really liked it. The first two songs are great songs. (#1 reactionary girl) and (#2 i've always got you). Then skip to the best song on the cd( #5 time will let you know). A slow song but, a song that should of gotten some air play.(#7 tell it to the world) and the song with the Great Stevie Nicks (#10 secret) are also good.

The rest of the cd, you'll have to listen to them and, you'll can rate them when you buy it. If you like Cheap Trick, it's a must have. Peace.

Well, what can I say about this album? I'm a giant fan of Cheap Trick and I know that Robin Zander is a very talented composer and singer. To be honest, I'd forgotten about this album until watching their fairly recent dvd 'Cheap Trick Silver' and a song from this album was performed. So, I bought this cd and listened to the whole thing. Within the various songs, I caught glimpses of Cheap Trick, some very non Cheap Trick sounding songs, and some songs quite grand in their scope, almost orchestral. Through all the widely varying pieces, I did notice one similarity to them all. All the songs are honest and heartfelt. As you may know, one undeniable aspect of Cheap Trick is their songs ability to vibrate and penetrate beyond the 7 layers of skin to where you end up feeling their influence for a long time after, and sometimes like a junky go back for more ASAP. Well, think of that, only with just Robin Zander and his music ideas. Though the other guys and various musicians as well play in the songs, they're still his (he writes and co-writes most). If you're a Cheap Trick fan, get this album. It's different, but all in all, it's Robin Zander and he is 1/4th of Cheap Trick.

Other reviewers here like some songs that I really don't care for on this album. I think that about five or six songs are near perfect, a couple are decent and the rest are unsuccessful experiments with different sounds that don't really suit him. But how often do you find an album these days that has even three or four good songs on it, let alone five or six GREAT songs?

I think Cheap Trick is probably the greatest American rock band of all time, but it's still refreshing to hear Zander step away and take on some different styles. One of the greatest rock singers of all time.
