The independent learning and great books philosophy behind Robinson curriculum was not created by Robinson. Many of the ideas that attract homeschoolers to this curriculum are not unique to this curriculum, neither are they original to this curriculum. If you like the ideas and concepts advocated by this curriculum, then in my opinion, your child and your wallet will be better served by dollarhomeschool dot com. where McGuffey readers on cd are only 39 dollars.

Mr. Robinson IMHO is selling fear. Of course he would suggest that an e-reader may not be good for the eyes; (Personally, I was an avid book reader as a child, and soon wore glasses, no e-readers existed then). His sales concept relies completely on the consumer needing a paper copy. Importantly, he has not had any independent studies done to prove or even suggest that statement is true. You may say so what, but there are advertising laws to protect consumers from false and deceptive claims.

Also, what Mr. Robinson and Dollarhomeschool know that you may not know, is that these older books are public domain and are free on the internet. I download Ray's Arthimetic from a search engine. Also, Robinson curriculum insists that the whole curriculum be followed exactly-that means six days of math, no sugar, no tv, etc. Or he voids the guaranteed superior results of his curriculum. Most homeschoolers will not follow exactly-and for very practical reasons.

Moreover, Mr. Robinson's wife taught their children through a different method and therefore the children's success can not be attributed to this curriculum. I bought RC based on his story and the above mentioned attractions, but I didn't think about how much of the children's education was shaped and blessed by their mother.

I've used this off and on for about 10 years. It is very complete-as far as reading goes, which is teaching history and science, etc. Math is separate. Good older books without the 'modern' problems.

I"m going to say I did not get this amazon. I bought it years back when I was a homeschool mom. It was not every kid's cup of tea. We all learn differently and not all of us were put here by God to do the same things so we probably won't benefit from the exact same books.

This--- is for that kid or adult who loves language arts who wants to learn from sourch documents. I loved it not all my kids did.

I wish I had not sold it as the dictionary alone is fantastic and you will not find the books again unless maybe you live near the library of congress.
