This tool is in tenths not eights as it is advertised. I needed tenths and am glad that I got that. It is used for getting the height of things on a drawing that is specified in decimal feet. The decimal feet is in tenths. As an example, when installing a septic system "D" box, you are given the height as 88.94. This is actually decimal feet. So one just slides the Robo Toolz reciever unit to one of the decimal feet marks.
