4.0 out of 5 stars This game rocks!!!
This game is really cool! I love making robots! In this game you don't really build the robots, but you can customize them with different colors and body designs. The battles are fun but need little strategy. The action can get a little frantic. The atributes of the robopon are a lot more complicated than Pokemon types. I wouldn't recomend this for really young players...

THIS GAME IS WAY TOO TOUGH!!! The enimies are near impossible to beat! Your Robopon Get scrapped befor you can even attack! I still like that you can make Robopon Though. So this game still has some good points.

I got this game to take on vacation. Then I only ended up playing it for 2 hours cause I got stuck. BUT DON'T STOP READING! When I got back from vacation I checked out one of my fav. sites, ... which told me what to do next. From there I got into the game. It's got a great storyline and good controls. One thing I don not like however is all the stupid robopon you run into! At the beginning of the game you can just run if you get tired of fighting but as the game goes on you can't run anymore. The stupid things appear every 3 steps! I heard that in ring version there are less encounters
with robopon. Other than that it's a great game and I say go for it!

This game is so cool. It is like Pokemon but it blows pokemon out of the park. it is fun, the graphics are cool, the boy DOES NOT look like a girl (the reason the other people say this is b/c they don't have a gf), the music is catchy, and you can make robopons. i recommend this game to pokemon fans that want to try something a bit different but still keeps the main points and strategies. I recommend you get sun version and the first one also. BELIEVE ME, THIS GAME IS WORTH EVERY TENTH OF A PENNY.( i recommend getting it at Best Buy or Target for holiday sales) Sincerely and completely honest, Jonathan

This is one of those raise-your-monster-for-fighting games (Pokemon anyone?), but it has a lot of originality in its own right. The game opens with the ending events of the first game, and shows you what happens right afterward.

The gameplay is a mix of FF-type RPG gaming and robot battles. You'll start off on an island walking around, talking to NPCs (non-player characters), and trying to gather parts to build your first Robopon (because you have none, having forgotten to bring your previous Robopon army with you from the last game).

You can build up your robots to be better fighters over time, and there's a good variety of robots to be had. Many of the robots can be customized with parts, software add-ons, and even the paint color scheme (specifically, the hue of the paint scheme) can be modified. Fights with robots happen either randomly or by choice (you will run into other people who will fight you for stakes, such as a new battery or part), and fights can happen one-to-one, two-to-one, or four-on-four. You can only have up to four Robopon at your disposable though, and thankfully you can store excess Robopon or excess parts at a warehouse facility (which can be accessed at various points in the game).

The one complaint I would have is some slowdown during gameplay. For example, there is one area where tornados appear. Due to the number of sprites on-screen, there is a definite slowdown. Overall though, the game runs at a fairly good clip with no noticeable slowdown. This issue might be linked to the GBA SP technical specifications, and not to the game engine itself. Also this issue only appears during specific areas.

Overall though, this is a good purchase if you like monster-fighters. There's a huge number of random battles, you have a wide choice of options in both building your army and equipping them, and the storyline (as well as some of the dialogue) is funny and charming. Not a bad game for your money.

5.0 out of 5 stars Anxiously Awaiting, June 18, 2002
This review is from: Robopon Cross Version (Video Game)
I preordered this game a month ago, and now that im waiting, id like to write a review. I have been waiting for a robot/collecting rpg on GBA. Take Medabots and give it a twist and you have one awesome game...i can't wait 'till it comes! Four robots can be used at once, and using the spark system, you create your own robots randomally or use a friend to make ultra rare items...plz email me if u see this in stores because ive heard its almost impossible too.

Also try Golden Sun, the best portable RPG of our time...for now

I do not have this game yet but it's a role-playing game and I LOVE RPG games, such as Golden Sun.They say that you build your robots level up.In one of my magazines,I heard that the battles can have up to 4 robots in it instead of just 2.I think this is a great game to get!

A Kid's Review
This review is from: Robopon Cross Version (Video Game)
When i first bought this game i thought that it looked like fun,but i was wrong. The graphics are poor, the main character looks like a girl. All u do is train your robots and go back in time 20yrs to fight some bad guy,and u do the same thing over and over again. The only reason i gave this game 2 stars is because the music was kinda catchy.(...)
