What a rip-off,

My 8 year old was looking forward to this gift, as he spotted it when it arrived in October and waited until tonight to open it. He's disappointed. I didn't realize it was just cardboard cut-outs with some blinking lights. It's not a robot, it's a cardboard toy that blinks and makes an annoying sound. He didn't even like the sound! I would not recommend and I'd like my money back.

The Robot is a Heap,
By Daddy Mac "Shinny" (NY, USA) - See all my reviews

My seven year old received the the Robot Kit as a birthday gift. The box indicated that the robot can protect and alert intruders. We were all so excited to open the box and put together our robot friend together. I must say that this is NOT made for a 7 year old to assemble. It took an Architect and an 8th grader a half hour to assemble the cardboard pieces. Once we finally got the robot together we connect the battery and all this did was make a terribly annoying noise. This toy is does nothing as it describes on the box. We are disappointed. I giving it one star because the accompanying 32 page book has some Ok info.

We bought the robot kit for our son and as the other reviews indicate the robots are paper cut outs with a box that blinks lights and makes an annoying buzzing noise. The instructions say the robot should detect 'intruders' but we could not turn the robot off - all lights and buzzing. We expected an elementary kit but this was below our expectations and not worth the money.

Garbage,
This review is from: The Robot Kit: With Four Fantastic Easy-to-Build Robots (Paperback)
The product discription says "Here is a set of components guaranteed to bring kids hours of fun, entertainment, and education." Where do you go to exercise the guarantee for the disapointed child who eagerly constructed this piece of junk. Even if it worked you would only have a cardboard cut out with a blinking light and a sound that is annoying even for the child. Really sad

Terrible,
This review is from: The Robot Kit: With Four Fantastic Easy-to-Build Robots (Paperback)
My eight-year-old son was very excited to build this "robot," but the result was a joke. This product is NOT a ROBOT. The packaging is false advertising. Even if you read the outer packaging of the box, it does not reveal that it is just a blinking, bleeping light inside cardboard cutouts. It claims to make an alarm, but it does not. I want my money back, and I want an apology to my son. The disappointment for him was crushing, because he loves robots. I would give it zero stars if I could, and shame on the author and manufacturer.

My very excited 8 year old birthday boy was very underwhelmed by the finished product. So much so that I thought we did it wrong and tripled checked. We had not, bummer.
