this would be a pretty cute toy but the cost of batterys is too much. We bought two for our grandsons. They are 4 and 6. The toys talk and make machine noise and light up and dance too. One we can understand the robot talk the other is a little more muffled. They look cute on the shelf. It comes with a remote. The kids understood how it works pretty quickly.

4.0 out of 5 stars my son loves it!, January 13, 2008

My son loves this toy. I often use it to occupy him or odstract him when he is bored or getting into something he shouldn't be. He dances with the robot and knows how to operate his spitting function, even though he's only 3! I have had no issues with the batteries; ours turns off automatically because it has a battery saving mechanism. The robot even says goodbye. The down side is to be careful when the robots shoots the disks from his mouth. They are lightweight, but my son did get hit in the eye. (the robot was on the coffee table, but is really meant to be on the floor.)He didn't really get hurt, just a little freaked out.

My son got this for his birthday about 2 years ago from the grandparents. Its still a fairly favorite toy. A few things broke (the cap to the well where you put the flying discs) but nothing that keeps it from working.

My boys got tons of use out of this without any issues with batteries or the like. There are very few toys nowadays that last with constant use, I'd say we've worn this one out.

I'd definately buy it as a gift for someone else.
