The way adaptations should be,

It is hard for me to put down this game as some do, as I have never seen a good version of Robotech ever. This game not only looks like the anime, but speeds through like it as well. As a Veritech fighter you dodge fire, while being chased by tons of missiles. You transform into all three modes of the Veritech at speeds equivalent to the show and have the exact same capabilities (for those who complained that there weren't major modifications to the fighters). TDK worked exhaustively to bring realism to the fans. How many games get the original voice actors to use their talents for a video game? And at that, actors who worked on a show 15 years ago? How many games make sure the original score was included, a cost that could have raised the price of the game? It is true that TDK needs to pay more attention to detail when it comes to landscape, however they did an excellent job for a freshman attempt. This game blended realism of the show, such as buildings exploding by stray missiles and camera angles which would rival the original anime, illustrated screenshots like the program and narratives, again emulating the show. Buy this game. If you are a fan you will take part in an awesome adventure and look forward to The Next Generation in TDK's "Robotech:Invasion", coming soon!!

Robotech: Battlecry is an incredible addition to the series, with one plus: The Graphics will all be highl improved, and the manuvers and specs will be more. As well, the makers of the game have added a one-on-one Multiplayer mode. This mode allows you to go head-to-head against your friend, using any of the modes you'd like. There are different maps in the Multiplayer, and it seems only 2 people can play at the same time. You can get more maps by playing the story mode. The story mode has a lot of missions, and many types of them. From search and rescue, to destroy all, and one-on-one with a leader of the enemy. You will battle on the ground, in the air, and in space. One lv. in space combat, you go against a whole fleet. Dog fights are going to be intence in this game, because of the power of the Game Cube processor. You can go incredibly fast, fire missles, and shoot missles down. In the Jet mode, you go the fastest and the most manuverable, firing good rockets and using the gun as well. In guardian is also manuverable, not as much as the Jet, and can also fire the same weapons as the jet. However, it's weapon's are weaker. The Battloid is made for close range combat, and can only fire a gun. However, pushing the secondary weapon buttun, it automatically shoots down all missles in it's firing range. It also has a sniper mode. Over all, from what it looks like, the game will be fun, and will have great hrs of gameplay.

This is an awesome game. The one player capabilities are outstanding. I never saw an episode of robotech but I may start. The graphics are beautiful,2 player is loads of fun but it could have been better. And there are over 40 one player missions. The options and extras are neat also. And who could forget the variety. My only gripe is the difficulty, even in easy mode it's tough so don't be surprised if you end up cussing at your controller. I beat the game in 4 days. The ending was pretty empty, as if something else was gonna happen, I hope this only opens up the oppurtunity of a sequal. bottom line...GET THIS GAME!!!

Finally they bring us the Robotech game we've all been waiting for. I was so very dissapointed at the cancelation of crystal dreams for N64. Now they finally give it to us, and man it's excellent . The graphics are amazing. I am extremely happy to see the cellshadig since this is a game from, lets face it, the best anime of all time. The gameplay is extremley fun but does get repetitive and tedious at times. The music is amazing. The only reason this game doesn't get 5 stars is because of the extremely annoying things that the main character says during gameplay. But seriously, BUY THIS GAME, it must be a miracle. WOW!

A great game, with a few glitches.,

At first this game may only appeal to those who have watched the revered Robotech anime series, but anyone in need of a solid action shooter should consider buying this game. When first played, it is hard to get a hold of controls, and the tutorial mode doesn't quite provide enough training, but it all comes in do time. Being a game ported from the PS2 version, controls are expecting to be a bit faulty, but once you get used to them, there is little to complain about. As the game progresses so do your skills, and the more you play, the more intense the action becomes. Overall the game is well done, but there are a few glitches here and there, such as your veritech dissapearing, or the whole game may freeze (very rarly though). It seems like the more i played the game that less glitches became apparant. The only other draw back is the lack of weapons, but it merely stays true to the anime series. Keep in mind that the level become very challenging, but there is always a way around every situation, and everyone developed there own strategies to solve them which is a major appeal of the game. If anime is your thing, this game is a must buy.

I was a fan of robotech since I was a kid. This is a very good game for the price! The game is very fun to play, and the controls are not hard at all. My 7 years old sister plays it with me!The game has good graphics, not as great as others GC games like Mario Sunshine or Resident Evil but are ok. The music is like the TV Cartoons, so you know, is great. The Story line is good, it tell you the story of the robotech world like if you were watching the TV serie so you don't need to be a robotech fan to understand it Overall a great game for 20 bucks

Wow! This game really really surprised me. When first heard this game was coming out for the 3 systems, I was skeptical at first. First of all, all the robotech (i.e. macross in japan) games made by bandai or someone like that sucked. Second, it was coming out on 3 systems!!! What would be better? After playing the heck out of the PS2 version, I am happy to say that I am glad I pre-ordered the GCN version. The PS2 controller gets all jumbly and I end up doing moves I don't want to because I forget what button is which in the heat of the moment. When I think about it, the game is perfectly set for the GC. Anyways, I digress. Robotech: Battlecry is one of the most exciting games I've ever played. Not only does it make you relive some tense episodes of the TV show, the actual gameplay while playing makes you feel like you are in total control of the veritech, firing off dozens of missles at your disposal. Wow. I'll admit, besides the cool looking cel shaded mecha, the graphics are kinda lacking, but once you play the game, it becomes hard to tear the controller off.

Well the reviewers are right. This is probably the best it's gonna get for now, so if you like the series, definitely play this one. The missiles are fun and the jet mode is amazing but it all gets old fast. The missions get monotonous and, even though their are three modes which sounds like endless fun, that too gets old fast. To me and my opinion, more types of weapons and more styles of veritechs, not just paintjobs either whoop-te-do, would have made the game more interesting.
