4.0 out of 5 stars Ok folks...I need to vent here..., November 5, 2004

This review is from: Robotech Figure: Exclusive Rook Bartley VFA-6Z Metallic Alpha Poseable (Toy)
I have messed around with these possable toys a bit and had some fun. This one in particualr is nothing special, you can set it up, make it point at stuff or give it to your kid brother and watch him trash it. Fairly durable, fairly poseable and so forth.

BUt Amazon...Baby...I need to know. Why haven't you gotten your hands on either the Yamato toy line or Veritechs or the new Masterpiece selection? The Yamato 1/60 and 1/48 veritechs are some of the coolest "action figures" ever to grace a robotech fan's abode. Fully poseable, fully transformable and very well made, the Yamato toys are right now really only accessible on auction sites. Now I know there was a war between Harmony Gold and Yamato because HG has exclusive rights to Robotech over here but Amazon, you have to try to get around this.

Harmony Gold does allow the Masterpiece toys through though and once again they are gooder stuff. Usually 1/55 scale, these have more metal, more stickers and more junk. On the flip side, they don't look as good, transform less well and so forth. Again, I can understand that with a limited production these toys may not be conducive to Amazon style buisness but to then have this poseable Alpha on here is like a slap. So if ya dig this sort of thing, I suggest looking into Yamato and the Masterpiece sets...they are what real Robotech toys are all about.

this alpha is a cool looking and operating item, was pleased by the way it looked and works, still a bit fragile!
