Not the original text.,
By Arc Jones (alentejo) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Robotech: The New Generation: The Invid invasion (Robotech: New Generation) (Mass Market Paperback)
I bought this to replace the older copy I had, but was disappointed to find that the text had been edited to account for later story lines (Shadow Chronicles and Sentinels).
In fact some of the lines that came from the tv show have been changed as well: Fans will remember the corny line from Scott Bernard "It's almost as vast as Venus!" In this edition, Venus has been changed to Spheris. While I appreciate the sentiment here (to try to produce a more coherent story line with regard to the whole), the fact remains that the story is different from previous editions and I write this review because people should know this before they buy.

The book is an excellent read and fills in tidbits that a person doesn't see in the TV series. A must for any fan of Robotech.

Very good book for those times you need to escape to a world that will never exist. The author somehow is able to have the reader imagine the scenes more clearly than if you watched the actual animated series.
Around the middle of the book, the writing style gets too repetitive, especially after reading the first two series which use the same writing style. Still, this is a must read for Robotech fans!

For about the past year I have been a big fan of the Robotech anime series. I first got hooked into the series by reading the novelizations of the series, which includes Battlecry, Doomsday and The Southern Cross series. But when I found out that a rerelease of this book was comming out, I knew that I had to get my hands on it. Form what I read so far, this is an excellent book. I not going to say anything further about it for those who haven't had a chance to read it yet. But definatelly check this out and the other Robotech novels. You will not be dissapointed.
