Snes RPG Game, May 3, 2002
This review is from: Robotrek (Video Game)
As RPG's of the snes go this one is one of its better ones. Main hero, things to find, weapons to upgrade, monsters to fight. All good elements of the genre. If you like Final Fantasy, Chrono Trigger, or Secret of Mana then you may be interested in this one as well. Dislikes: As in some games the music in this can get on your nerves. Fighting music in particular is repetitive. Also translation of this game was shabby. There are several typos. Likes: Having robots fight for you was an original idea. Combining items has been used in other games but it is a unique aspect of this game.

Good game, though weird grammar errors., October 16, 2008

This game is a pioneer of it's time I think. It has cutesy graphics, and a very unique system of combat. It allows you to combine moves to create other affects in combat. For example, using a sword, then gun, then sword makes your robot slash whatever is in front of them, rush behind it and slash it in the back.

Better than I remembered~, December 9, 2011

Playing this again after about 15 years, now on my phone via a SNES emulator I purchased. I remember the game from my youth, though I wasn't enamored with it. I played Final Fantasy, Lufia, Chrono Trigger, and Breath of Fire quite a bit, but I think that maybe the lack of overworld exploration bummed me out...
Playing this recently has made me discover a new appreciation for this game. The graphics are pretty plain, very colorful. Sound is pretty bland, bordering on awful during battles. But the real genius is that there are no true random encounters. Like Chrono Trigger, enemies pop up on the screen and you can avoid them if you can.
You create robots to do your fighting. It's a system that allows for quite a bit of customization. You synthesize different gear (or find it), either through recipes costing money, or by combining existing items. The recipes are in books that require a certain level to read them. But the real fun is in customizing your robots to your specifications. Since you can have multiple, you can make several with focus on different stats.
The game doesn't really hold your hand, and I approve. It's tough. If you aren't prepared, then expect to see the game over screen. Leveling is important, but also gearing up your robots properly is just as if not more important. Many bosses hit hard, so having a shield or high defense is a must. But you still have to inflict damage, so attack is important too!
The game is pretty long for its era. Not as lengthy as a Final Fantasy SNES title or Lufia but more along the lines of Breath of Fire.
All in all it's a fun game that has a few flaws, but not enough to detract from the overall experience. I recommend it highly for those who have played other SNES RPG titles and want to try something different.
