For younger kids too.,

This review is from: Robots (Kingfisher Young Knowledge) (Hardcover)
My 5 year old son LOVES this book. It has lots of cool pictures and is easy for him to understand when I read it to him. He is so into this book that he can listen to all 47 pages at one sitting and still want to go back and thumb through, talking about the pictures. Totally worth the money.

robot wars!,

This review is from: Robots (Kingfisher Young Knowledge) (Hardcover)
Robots by Clive Gifford is a complete science lesson on Robots compiled into one book. Topics included in the book are What are Robots, Robot Arms, and various type of robots. This book will teach children lots of great information about robots. Children will see how robots are used in space, to help doctors, and how robots are used in space.I like the hands on projects that were in the back of the book. These would make great projects to share with friends. I would recommed this book for kids ages 9-12. I feel that mostly boys will enjoy this book. They seem to be more into robots than girls most of the time.

I bought this for my 2 year old. Now 3, he still loves it. We read it as a bedtime story, even though it is a nonfiction book of facts about robots. There is only one page I avoid with him: the one where a "mean" looking robot is destroying things (trucks, I think). Everything else in there is perfect for his age group and up! Teaches about the types of robots, their uses, their different abilities, etc.

My 5 year old son picked this out at the bookstore. It's great because it has so many cool extra features that really draws kids into the book - the robots eye on the cover is a red jewel, pages have pull out moving pieces, cards, and all kinds of fun elements. The information about robots in history and theory is great. A wonderful book my 5 year old has been caught sleeping with this one.
I like the fact that it is a great mixture of fun attractions for kids to make them enjoy learning but also has interesting content that I like to read to him and that an older kid would enjoy reading.

Robots!,

This review is from: Robots (Hardcover)
My son received this book for Christmas after showing interest in it at the school bookfair. Amazon had the book for $8 cheaper - I love that. The book covers robots from the early stages all the way through the movies and into the future. It has interactive pages which my 8 yr old son thought was cool. My son has always loved legos and building his own creations. Perhaps this book will give him ideas for his future. He will definitely grow with this book.
