4.0 out of 5 stars M.V.P.
I bought the CD after I met her at Elysium Lounge (this is your Valet Tea) in downtown Detroit because I was curious what the album had to offer. I was very pleasantly surprised. She has an incredible voice to be so young and the production is on point.

I try to write positive things about artist, but I really need to get this off my chest. This is the worst CD so far in the R&B category. I try to write positive things about artist, but I really need to get this off my chest. This is the worst CD so far in the R&B category. I have never heard lyrics so juvenile and equally foul at the same time. This is suppose the be a 17 year old girl singing about "teenage" topics with an offensive mouth. Even though I have the edited version, there was just as much "black-outs" as a rap CD.

I knew something was wrong when I saw the titles of the songs:
1. Make Her Feel Good - (I like this nothing special but it works)
2. No Daddy (The explanation for why she is a chicken head)
3. New Sh*t. (This could have been good but the cursing (or black-outs) destroyed it!
4. Stay in Ya Lane (I don't even want to talk about this one)
5. Act Right (So far I still have this one on my iPod)
6. M.V.P. (It's okay)
7. La La - (Just weak)
8. Get Down Tonight - (It's okay)
9. Phone Booth (My mother loves me but I'm to young and dumb to realize it so I need you to pick me up at the phone booth).
10. Confidential (Don't want to talk about it)
11. Get Up on Ya Gangsta (It's okay the production is hot)
12. No Daddy [Remix] - (Why would you have a remix to this!!!!)

I brought the CD on the strength that Jay-Z was behind this, and Teairra Mari has a nice voice. Amazon suggested this artist and with the exception of this artist there suggestions are right on the nose especially when it comes to finding underground or new artist. This project is trash, I wasted my time hearing this and I hope she gets a second chance to do another CD because someone wrote some really dreadful songs for a girl with such a pleasant voice. If I could do it all again I would have just downloaded the one single and saved me the money and time. The sad part is the younger ladies will buy this CD and look up to her and this is not the type of stuff an impressible mind should be listening to. I might even use this CD for a thesis this upcoming semester for negative media exposed about and to black woman.

I bought the CD after I met her at Elysium Lounge (this is your Valet Tea) in downtown Detroit because I was curious what the album had to offer. I was very pleasantly surprised. She has an incredible voice to be so young and the production is on point.

1. Make Her Feel Good - This is the lead single; everybody knows what this song is about. The groove is catchy, the lyrics make sense and the message is told from a unique point of view.

2. No Daddy - This track works well on the way to the club, as well as inside the club. At this point in the album it is obvious that it has personality ~ more than just a singer singing songs.

3. New Sh*t - You'll enjoy listening to this one from time to time, but other than that you'll likely skip it. It's better than a 'filler' but ambiguous as far as single potential.

4. Stay in Ya Lane - About the same as #3 but with stronger single potential

5. Act Right - A good song.

6. M.V.P. - This is one of the hottest tracks on the album. It's energetic, it has a catchy hook and once again, a message delivered from a unique perspective. 10 stars on this one; no doubt it would thrive as a single.

7. La La - This is another one you'll enjoy listening to each time you spin the disc. You probably won't repeat it over and over, but you won't skip it either. The right visual compliment would solidify its single potential.

8. Get Down Tonight - Just OK.

9. Phone Booth - This is another really good song on the album with strong single potential. Slower tempo, nice melody. Once again, Teairra tells the story we relate to so well but in a way that makes it her own. I wouldn't be surprised if a video was made for this and it would do well.

10. Confidential - Just OK.

11. Get Up on Ya Gangsta - Just OK.

12. No Daddy (remix) - almost as good as #2, I would have liked something a little more creative with the "remix" stamp on it. This is the closest thing to a 'filler' on the whole CD.

All in all, if Tea continues to progress from this, she will always have a strong relevance in music. If you buy this CD, you'll be happy you did.

3.0 out of 5 stars DECENT ROC-A-FELLA PRESENTATION FOR TEAIRRA, April 28, 2006
By
This review is from: Roc-A-Fella Presents Teairra (Clean) (Audio CD)
First off, I am a pretty big fan of Teairra's music. I really did enjoy the cd. I will tell you why I gave this cd 3 stars. When you think of Roc-A-Fella Records, you will most likely think of Jay Z. He's one of the biggest rappers out now, along with Eminem, 50 Cent, Kanye West, etc. Jay Z's music is always platinum selling. Also, Kanye West, who is on the record label is an outstanding performer. Teairra is the first female artist on the Roc. I don't really think Jay-Z picked the best first lady that he could have though. Teairra is a good studio singer, but as far as performing live goes - it's not that good.
It's kind of like with G-UNIT. 50 Cent chose Olivia to be the first lady of the label, but her performance isn't that well. I gave Teairra 3 Stars because, some of the songs weren't good in my opinion, and some of the vocals were off in several songs. However, it was a good album that many teenage girls would like. The best songs, in my opinion, are: Make Her Feel Good, No Daddy, New Sh*t, La La, and Get Down Tonight. I know I did enjoy it, and I'm 16. I would say that it is worth the money, and I would definitly reccommend that people buy it. My ratings for each song are below:

1. Make Her Feel Good: 10/10
2. No Daddy: 10/10
3. New Sh*t: 10/10
4. Stay In Ya Lane: 7/10
5. Act Right: 3/10
6. M.V.P.: 4/10
7. La La: 10/10
8. Get Down Tonight: 10/10
9. Phone Booth: 2/10
10. Confidential: 3/10
11. Get Up On Ya Gansta: 4/10
12. No Daddy Remix (Kwame "K1 Mil"): 8/10

Now Teairra has a unique voice, doesn't try to copy off of other singers, but the album wasn't the best. Honestly, for Jay-Z, he could have gotten better producers like The Neptunes, etc. Cool& Dre, Kwame, and the other producers of the album were hot - however it could have been better. Overall I enjoyed it, but if it had better productions, Teairra would have maybe gotten more airplay on the radio, music television stations like BET and MTV, won some awards, etc.

3.0 out of 5 stars Guilty pleasure., January 1, 2006
This review is from: Roc-A-Fella Presents Teairra (Clean) (Audio CD)
This album has some catchy material. If I had to describe this CD in two words, it would be guilty pleasure. Her voice is nothing special, just a notch above Ashanti's. But she makes this CD work, with standout tracks like "New (...)" and "Stay In Ya Lane." But there are still some mediocre songs on here. "No Daddy" for example. (And don't ask me why they decided to put a remix of it at the end, which is even worse than the original.)
