About the Author
Cliff Ulmer, creator of "Rocap" was born February 27, 1953. He comes from a long line of artistic talent in the family. Growing up in the "Rust Belt" of Canton, Ohio, Ulmer and his brothers enjoyed drawing from the local newspaper and their favorite comic books before doing their own creations. Ulmer's earliest influences were the Dennis the Menace and Dick Tracy comic strips. He enjoyed learning how to draw Tracy's"snub-nose 38." Ulmer gets his inspiration from life itself ... people, places, situations; you name it. "Rocap" is a shining example of such inspiration from an unlikely situation. In 1989, Ulmer found himself in an unfortunate spot in the County jail. It was his first and only time behind bars. While locked up, it was through sheer boreom that "Rocap" entered the picture. "Rocap is a combination of about five real-life C.O.'s who worked there. Ulmer simply took what physical "stand outs" each one hand and VOILA!!! "Rocap" was born. In the 15 months of life on the inside, Ulmer has seen and heard unbelievable stuff that went on among adults that when you see it, you can't help but laugh. "Rocap" offers the funnier side of doing time. There is a lot more to come with a cast of C.O.'s, staff, and of course inmates tickling your funny bone. You'll be a "laughing lifer."
