About the Author
Dane Gordon is a graduate of Trinity College, Cambridge, London University, and the University of Rochester, New York, receiving degrees in history, theology, and philosophy. He taught philosophy for over 35 years at Rochester Institute of Technology, and is now Professor Emeritus of its College of Liberal Arts. Among his numerous publications are "The Old Testament in its Cultural, Historical and Religious Context"; "A Feeling Intellect and a Thinking Heart"; "Philosophy and Vision"; and as editor, "Philosophy in Post-Communist Europe." His most recent publication, other than this history, is a volume of poetry, called "Saint Petersburg: Poems," which he wrote while teaching and living in Saint Petersburg, Russia, during the autumn months of 2004 and 2005.
