IGNORE THE SONG LIST GIVEN,
By Lawa (Chula Vista, CA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Rock on 1981 2 (Audio CD)
As of 8/06- amazon listed the wrong song list for this CD. The songs included on this CD include: Rapture, Queen of Hearts, Fire and Ice, Centerfold, the Stroke, etc. It does NOT include Jessie's Girl, Slow Hand, or Bette Davis Eyes.

A good compilation but not the songs listed,

This is not a bad compilation of songs from 1981, but it does not include songs listed in the advertisement. Notably Bette Davis Eyes and Jessies Girl are listed as songs on the CD, but they were not on the CD I received. It would seem this problem should be corrected because those were two of the reasons I ordered.

I graduated from high school in 1981, and each and every one of these songs was a big hit. I get sadly nostalgic when I hear music from those good old days, because they just don't make music like that any more.

I really like this album. It has alot of the older hits that you do not get to hear anymore. All of the songs on this album have good beats and have a positive message. Bete Davis Eyes is the absolute best on the album. I would have to say that jessies girl comes in second. If you are ever in a funk this album will help pull you out by taking you back to your younger days and reminding you of happier times.

OK, I was only six when this album was first released, but I still remember the songs. My dad was in a softball and bowling league and I can remember the long trips around the Southeast with this music coming through the radio. When I hear songs like "Urgent" and "Jessie's Girl" I can't help but to think back to those nights sitting in the car with my friends while my dad played softball and listening to the radio. We played our air guitars and thought we were good enough to do what those guys were doing. I remember my first little crush and I would hold hands while listening to "Slow Hand", "Bette Davis Eyes" and "You Make My Dreams Come True". Man what great times and great music. If you remember the days when life was a little more simple. Technology wasn't the thing of the day and you thumbed through hundreds of 12"ers looking for the right music for the right mood you need to pick up this CD. If you still have your Atari 2600, your Star Wars curtains and beadspreads and your E.T. Lunchbox you must add this to your 1980's collection. The music is fabulous and nothing, I mean nothing can set that early eighties mood like this one. Even if you weren't around then, but want to know what music was like back then you oughta pick up this one too. You can't put into words what this disc will do to you emotionally. |
