Take it home tonight. You'll be mad about it.,

I agree with the "rule of thumb" of the previous reviewer. I think we all do. How much we like a certain album will depend almost entirely on its track list. For me, I was mainly looking for a CD that had the hard to find song, "Your Wildest Dreams," on it, along with some other songs that I would like to have in my collection. Mad About You - 1986 was just plain perfect.Granted, I already owned four of the songs, but they're worth owning twice, and it had too many other songs that I DIDN'T own yet for me to simply walk past it. Mad About You - 1986 has my two favorite Bangles songs, "Walk Like An Egyptian" and "Manic Monday," another song I was wanting, the all around great ballad, "Mad About You," and of course, the main eye catcher from the start, one of the most underrated 80's songs of all, "Your Wildest Dreams." While listening to the CD from start to finish, I found out that there were other songs that I didn't know, but that I liked. I had never heard "This Could Be the Night" before, but after a couple of listens, that song had a new fan. As much as I dread saying it, I like the chorus, and pretty much the whole song of "Heartbeat," sung by Don Johnson. Yeah, MAJOR surprise there. "Tuff Enuff" is a decent one hit wonder, and "All Cried Out" I'm honestly not crazy about. As mentioned before, the four songs I already owned, "Take Me Home Tonight" (80's classic, easily), "I'll Be Over You" (Toto is one of my favorite bands), "Stuck With You" (I love Huey Lewis & The News too), and "Your Love" (one of my favorite 80's songs of all...very underrated), are all great and should be owned by any 80's music fan. Doing something thoughtful for somebody can make their day. I'm really interested in learning about 80's music history, and this album made my day not only with its music, but the fact that the back of the CD case has each song's chart position. All but one of the songs were a top 10 hit in their day ("I'll Be Over You should've made the top 10!), and there are two #1 hits. I'm baffled as to how "Your Wildest Dreams" and "Your Love" didn't crack the top 5! I'm mad about this CD. Since getting it, it has been a major attraction on my computer and in the car's CD player. If you like at least half the songs on Mad About You - 1986 and don't already own most of them, don't think twice about picking it up before you leave. You'll be walking like an Egyptian before you know it. This album has the words, "take me home tonight," written all over it, and it's looking at you.
