Has any one song defined a band more than KISS was defined by "Rock and Roll All Nite"? Written almost as an act of desperation, the song became a timeless anthem, and the one constant of the band's live performances. Like most KISS songs, this has a great hook, and it can almost always be counted on to cause the listener to turn up the volume on their stereo. If rock music ever creates a time capsule for future generations, this song must absolutely be placed inside (although, given KISS' longevity, I would guess the song would still be around whenever that capsule is opened).Is R&RAN the best song KISS ever penned? That's debateable. Is it the most important song they ever penned? Without a doubt. Paul Stanley himself has called this song "The Rock And Roll National Anthem". This reviewer thinks he couldn't be more correct. |
